Chapter 4: Nightmare Disaster
KALEIGH POV.😵(Based on a true event)
Oh no!!! The ninjas are out to get me!!!
"AHHHHH!" I scream. I'm not loud enough.
They got me!!! They got me!!!!
"AHHHHHHHHHHAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" I scream again but no one seems to hear me.
Just then I wack one of the ninjas down. I'm not heard I must fight on my own.
I gather as much strength I can but i feel weak. When one if the ninjas blinks I take my chance. The force of my fist to the ninja was in all not that hard. I wipe the sweat off the back of my head.
"Owwww, Kaleigh. What was that for?" I hear a small frail boy voice that sounds like my seven year old brother, Liam.
My eyes pop open to see that one of my brothers, Liam, is on the floor rubbing his arm. Quincy, Adam, and Rosie are surrounding me on my bed. Rosie and I are the only two girls out of five, well almost six siblings. My mom is pregnant with ONLY her sixth child, I hope.
"Sorry," I say to Liam as I can tell I hit him hard on his Humerus Bone. Liam is the only one with dark brown hair in our family and has pale blue eyes with freckles.
"Oooooooo Kaleigh, I'm telling," Adam says. Adam has auburn hair with blue dazzling eyes and is my obnoxious eight year old brother.
Quincy; he is crazy and outgoing. He is five years old with bright, blue eyes and freckles. Meh has brownish blond hair like mine.
My three year old sister, Rosie, has dimples, Blonde hair, and mesmerising blue eyes that are dark.
"Don't hit Kaweigh," Rosie bosses me. She's so funny and can't say her L's yet. She calls me Kaweigh.
"Kaleigh, dumbo," Adam adds.
"Adam be nice," mom says as she's entering my room.
"Kaleigh, the phone's for you. It's Jack Huskey," Mom says to me.
"Ok, everyone get off me!" I say.
I wonder why Jack wants to talk to me. We barely talk in school. He's really cute, but he's Mac's friend. That shouldn't stop me from liking him except for the fact that I told Mac my worst nightmare would be kissing him and he plans to get revenge. Oh no. Why did I choose to show him up yesturday? Thank God today is a Saturday so I don't have to face Mac.
"Kaleigh, are you just going to lie there or take the phone?" Mom says still holding the phone out to me as my siblings are long gone down the hallway.
I take the phone and my mom walks out of the room and shuts the door behind her.
"Hello?!?" I say smiling with joy even though he can't even see me.
"Kaleigh," Jack says in an enthusiastic voice as if he was happy to hear me speak.
"Yes?!?" I say in total flirt mode but probably fails from that groggy feeling I woke up with.
"I was wondering if you'd like to be my date to the party at Mac's house tonight? Can I meet you there?" Jack asks.
"Is Evie going?" I say. Oh God that came out wrong. Now he thinks I'll only go if she goes. Either that or the thought of being lesbian which I'm not.
"Yeah. Mac invited her," Jack says a little glumly.
"Really?" I say stunned by the facts. Mac inviting Evie. This will be an interesting party. Maybe this is all part of his plan to plant revenge on my lips. Maybe this is the only way he knew I would go for sure, to invite my friends.
"Yeah, he's always so protective towards Evie," Jack says, "Also there's the fact that he's neighbors with her."
What? Protective? Mac? Protective and Mac are two things that just can't seem to mix in my head. Like I said before, "What?" Why did I say that out loud?!? "He most certainly is not."
"Hello? Do you want to go with me or not? Cause if you don't....," Jack begins.
I cut him off, "Of course I do. What time is it?"
"Seven-thirty til' midnight," He says. "His parents don't want it to get out of hand. Tell Evie not to fight with Mac today.
"Kay, see you then!" I say excited.
"Sorry, I can't pick you up. I'm going earlier to help set up. Most of my dates like when I pick them up, so I feel bad," Jack says, "And I really, ahh, I wanted to.. impress you.."
Girls are weird. Ok that's just insulting myself but seriously. He's just going to pick me up and drive me home. Not literally pick me up but you know what I mean. What's so special 'bout him picking me up?!? I don't know but it's so tempting to find out.
"Hello? Ya there?" Jack questions. That's awkward. We were silent for a whole minute without saying anything. Talk about awkwardness.
"Yes," I say.
"I'll see you there around seven-thirty," He States.
"Kay. Can't wait!!!" I say. I look over to the clock, eleven-forty, and realize I slept threw half of the day. Oh no!!! Ughhh!!!! I have plans.
I hang up the phone and place it on my bedside table. I climb out of bed, walk to my closet, get dressed. I decide to wear a sunset orange tank top that fades into pink at the bottom and my white ripped shorts. I coom my hair and quickly put on eye shadow. I put on my pink sandles and head down the steps with my car keys in hand. As I reach the bottom of the steps I receive a text.
'We're going dress shopping for the party tonight at the strip mall, one o'clock. From Melissa.'
I click reply then quickly text:
'On my way.'
Evie, Melissa, Savannah, and I usually plan to shop and hang out on Street st. every Saturday afternoon to go shopping and eat lunch at the Forever Yummy Pizza and Ice Cream Shop.
"Kaleigh, the boys are going to hang out with their friends down the street. Rosie has no where to go and our babysitter just canceled. Can you do me the favor and bring Rosie to go hang out with your friends," Mom says so innocently. Ughhh.
"Fine," I say angrily. She always needs my help. Why should I have to help. I mean she's three. I think she can take care of herself. She's already potty trained. Hey I know what this sounds like but I had to stay home alone many of times since I was four because mom and dad were always buisy with work.
Sometimes I feel like I was never treated like a kid and was always more independent than Adam, Liam, Quincy, or Rosie. They always will have each other to grow up with and I'm already going to college after this year.
I grab Rosie's soft quaint hand and hold it like I'll never let go as we head out the door.

Please...... Your support means everything. So what did you think about Mac being protective? How do you like Halley, Evie, Melissa, Kaleigh, Jack, and Mac. BTW they're seniors in high school just in case if you were wondering. And the part where Kaleigh was having a nightmare and by accidentally punched her younger brother in the arm is a true story based off of one of my friends. If you have any questions please ask. And tell me if you find any errors. What do you think should happen at the party? What should Kaleigh's dress look like?If you have any ideas please comment.
