As the bright sun shines above me, while I lay still in the luchious green grass if the palace garden, I watch as the clouds slowly move past me. I can hear that beautiful sound of the birds chirping about on the low branches surrounding me. "Gemma," a sweet voice calls out, "mother asked for you to come inside!" My younger brother calls out for me. I get up and walk towards the beautiful castle walls, I open them to find my personal guard and handmaiden, waiting to escort me to my mother's chambers. "How was your walk, princess?" She asked. "Just fine, Libby." Libby is about four years older than me but, she is wise beyond her years, she gives me great advice and always tells me the truth, even if I don't want to hear it. When we made it to my mother's chambers the two guards move aside as they open the fits for Libby and I. "Hello, mother." I say as I enter the room, "Hello, my queen." Libby days with a slight curtsy and scurries to the corner of RJ room. My mother comes aims from he pain behind her desk and sits in the small lounge chair by the fireplace. "Come sit dear," she says low but lid enough for me to hear, "I have something of dire importance to discuss with you." She says while motioning me to sit in the seat beside her.
While walking over to where mother was sitting I thought about what was so important that my younger brother, Dylan doesn't have to attend the meeting. "Well, as we both know you are getting older and your responsibilities as both a princess and a young lady are growing. Since you are the eldest you must carry the crown next after your father and I have been resigned from out duties," i didnt know how to feel about mom or dad dying not yet at least ",Lord Locke has offered his eldest son to take your hand in marriage, I have called you here to discuss this matter with you." She explains, randomly brushing her hair out of her face with her finger, revealing subtle streaks of gray on her temples, showing her age through her long thick black hair. "So this is what I have to do? Do I have any day in whether or not I actually want to marry Lord Locke's son, who I've never met a day in my life? Why can't I choose who I want to marry?" Mother looks at me with a stern look on her face and simply says, "Because I say so," wiping another piece of her dark curls from her face ",besides is what's best for the kingdom, not we are done with this conversation and I will see you at dinner." She looked at me with a forced smile. "No you won't." I replied and walked out if her chambers, Libby right behind me.
I ran down the stairs of the palace all the way to my garden. When I got to my secret opening I walked through and layed down on the grass and thought about the horrible day I'd had, then sleep came over me...
