The next week passed by quite quickly, I got to know the Richard family pretty well before school had started, which was great. They all invited me with open arms; all except for Lilly. I didn't know what I was doing wrong when it came to her. She seemed to just always have a stick up her tiny flat ass. I chuckled to myself, she really had no butt whatsoever.Tomorrow was the first day at Coral Springs High School. I was so unbelievably nervous. Being new is one thing, but being a new senior was a whole different level of scary. I definitely was not mentally prepared for this.

I woke up to the familiar sound of my alarm on my phone. I instantly shot up. I had to look presentable, seeing that it was the first day of 12th grade. I'd already picked out my outfit days before, so I would be prepared. I wasn't normally prepared at all, yet a gigantic mess of disorganization.
I put on my brick red skirt, black top, leather jacket, and black boots on. As I was putting on my gold bracelet and necklace, I heard Lilly's door open and heels clicking down the steps of the stairs. I grabbed my backpack and slung it over my shoulders, checking myself once more in the mirror making sure I looked presentable. I'd done my makeup quite to perfection, even though I never really wore that much to begin with.
I opened my door, and stepped out, closing it behind me. I hurried down the steps, remembering that Elizabeth had told me a few days back that Lilly would be driving me to school everyday. I hadn't really looked forward to it, but I would eventually get over it. I mean, I guess it was nice of her to give me a ride everyday, but Lilly didn't exactly strike me as the "nice" type.
Once I stepped into the living room, Lilly instantly rolled her eyes. She always did that when she saw me. It was sad that I was kinda used to it by now.
I looked over Lilly's outfit. I always knew that Lilly was hostile, but I didn't know that she really enjoyed showing off her pale skin. She wore a tight, red, strapless crop top that showed a lot of cleavage that I could've lived without seeing. She also had on tiny black shorts and black heels. I gave a small smile, and she went back to scrolling through Instagram. I sat down and continued to stare and stare at her tight curls and perfectly drawn on eyebrows. I'd never seen someone put so much effort into looking fake.
Lilly looked up from her phone in disgust. "Are you going to just keep gawking at me like that?" She asked, rolling her eyes for about the one-hundredth time. I nervously dart my eyes away and stare at my shoes, slowly shaking my head no. I mouth the word sorry, but nothing comes out.
I awkwardly stood up and headed to the kitchen in silence. I let out a breath of relief as soon as I made it into the safety of the kitchen. I leaned against the fridge and tried to calm myself down. I'm surprised she even knew what the word gawk meant. I laughed a little and grabbed an apple, heading back into the living room.
I took out my phone after I sat back down on the couch. 7:38. I knew that the first bell rang at 8 and we were given 7 minutes in between classes, so school started at 8:07.
In the middle of my thoughts, Lilly got up and took her keys out of her blue messenger bag. "Let's go," she said while gesturing her head to the front door. I stood up, apple in one hand and phone in the other. I awkwardly try and get my backpack on without picking it up with my hands and receive another annoyed look from Lilly. I put my phone into the side pocket of my backpack and follow Lilly outside of the door.
Lilly was already really tall, but with the heels, she was a tower. With every step she took, a loud click followed due to her heels. She unlocked the door to her black BMW and I opened the door, setting my bag in the back and sat down.
The car ride dragged on in silence. Neither of us dared to break the silence. I stole glances at Lilly every once and awhile, wondering what went on in her head.
A bit later Lilly turned on the radio. Some sort of country song blasted out of the speakers. I winced in reaction. I couldn't stand country music. "Ew," Lilly sounded, immediately changing the station. I gave a small giggle, hearing Drake come on the radio. I start to mouth the words to the song, when I hear Lilly basically screaming the words at the top of her lungs. I burst out laughing, I couldn't keep it in. I had no idea she listened to and actually liked Drake. She then started laughing along with me. This was the first time I'd actually seen Lilly not be a complete bitch.
The rest of the car ride was fine. We didn't talk, but I knew we were cool with one another.
Once we made it to the school, she parked and we both got out. "You know, I can't really be seen with you. You're the new kid, that would damage my reputation. Sorry," Lilly said, fake sympathy lacing her tone. She had returned to her snobby self. My mouth dropped wide open. How could she do this? Lilly knew that I'd never been to the school before. She knew that I didn't know my way around, or what kind of things I was to expect. I bit my lip and nodded, pretending to understand. She then quickly turned around and clicked off, putting her hand out to lock her car. I stood there, in the middle of the parking lot, watching her walk into the entrance of the school.
I then straightened up, I wasn't going to let her ruin my first day. I blinked back some tears that had started to form in my eyes and started heading towards the front of the school. I kept my head up, remembering that confidence is key.
I was given multiple looks as I walked into the building. I may have looked calm on the outside, but I was screaming bloody murder on the inside.
All of the sudden I tripped on something and everything went down. I managed to put my arms out in front of me to catch my fall. My backpack crushed me though, what had I put in that thing? I slowly got up and brushed myself off, noticing people stopped around me to watch and stare. My cheeks instantly started to flush into a deep red as I heard some laughs from the students that gathered around.
I picked up my backpack and started to head away, when someone grabbed my shoulder and stopped me. I whipped around and came face to face with one of the prettiest guys I'd probably ever seen. He had glasses over his light brown eyes. His dark brown hair was messy and pulled every which way. I couldn't stop looking and staring at his beautiful face.
He nervously pushed his glasses up his face and glanced at me. "I'm very sorry about tripping you. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going," the boy said looking at the ground.
I gave a small smile to let him know that I wasn't upset. Shaking my head, I said "Oh don't worry about it, accidents happen!" He looked up and gave the cutest smile I've ever laid my eyes on.
"Thank you for understanding. I'm Seth by the way," He said to me, sticking his hand out. I took it in my own, "Rory."
