Carter POV
"Mom! Are you guys going to the game, or nah?" I yelled from my room. It was finally game day, so I was all pumped up. We were going to beat the WestLake Knights. Last season, we played them during our homecoming game, and we gave them a beating. Let's just say I scored more than 20 points.
"I don't know sweetheart. Your dad isn't home yet, and I don't want to go the game by myself," my mom yelled back. She honestly didn't like football, but she came to support me. I'd always hear her cheers when I'd head back into the locker room during halftime.
"Well I'm gonna head out. Just call me if you guys decide to go, so I can tell the ticket people to let you guys in! Okay?"
"Yea! Sure, honey!" I made my way down the mahogany stairs, and saw my mom sitting on the couch watching TV. I guess she had already made a decision of going or not.
"Bye, Mom," I said as I shut the front door. Going to a home game always got me excited. Especially this one since it was the first game, and there was going to be a party after.

"Alright! Bring it in," Coach Myers announced, "I want you boys to go out there and give it your all. You need to be prepared for anything. I know we might have beat them last year, but they have a good kid at quarterback. He's got a great arm. So be prepared for some deep balls. Alright, now we want to start something new. Joey here wanted to do a new chant so I'll let him take it away.""Alright, now the guys who I shared this with please come up." I noticed Carl and Michael begin to go up. One by one, every senior was up there with Joey. Meaning there was only about 30 of us who didn't know what the hell was going on.
The group of seniors got in to a huddle with Joey in the middle. This was about to get interesting.
"Dedicated, dedicated, dedicated Jaguars! Fired up, fired up, fired up Jaguars! HOORAH, HOORAH, HOORAH JAGUARS!" The seniors chanted.
"So what now," I questioned Joey. All he managed to accomplish was getting half the team riled up.
"Now we go and do that again, but with a bigger audience." Joey remarked.

"I don't know what's going on out there, but that is not my team!" Coach complained. "You boys are better than that! There is no reason we should be down by 2 touchdowns!"When coach said that they'd gotten a new quarterback, he forgot to mention the fact that's they'd basically gotten a whole new team! The cornerbacks were on my ass the whole entire time. They'd outrun me every single time.
"Yea guys I don't know what's going on out there," Joey commented.
"Oh sit your ass down Joey," coach growled. This was supposed to be the "easiest" game of the season, and we just happened to be losing.
"If y'all don't go out there and change that score, let me just tell you, Monday's practice ain't gonna be easy. So y'all better shape up or you're going to be praying you weren't on this team." Coach was very threatening when he wanted to be. Last season, we lost the last game. I was sore for about two weeks.
"Alright, now go back out there. I don't even wanna look at y'all right now." Coach grumbled.

"There's only 10 seconds left Joey. One play that's all we get," Nick the offensive tackle stated."No really? I couldn't tell! Alright I'm gonna throw it deep," Joey began while looking around at all of us. "Carter I'm gonna be looking for you. If I can't, Charlie you better be ready. Ready? BREAK!"
