Levys POV

All I could think was that finally the book has arrived, I couldn't believe how long I have waited for this book. When I suddenly bash into an iron hard chest... I fall and brace myself for the fall but strong arms catch me. Unfortunately not the book and I jump out of his arms to grab at my precious baby before any damage is done to it. I look into Gajeels baffled eyes and laugh a little, he looks so confused.
"This is a new book, it can't be damaged." I explain to the baffled iron dragon slayer.

"Whatever you say, shrimp." He says in response. We are now moving towards the guild hall and could already hear the distant shouts and crashes of a fight. I laugh softly at their stupidity and obvious care for each other but with this kind of noise I won't be able to concentrate on my book, not properly.

"Hey Gajeel, I'm um gonna head home to read." For a moment he looks disappointed but it must have been my imagination.
"Okay Shrimp." I turn away but before I can finish turning the correct direction I feel a hand on my elbow, I turn to see Gajeel looking at me with his piercing red eyes.

"What do you say if I go home with you?" He asks but it's not really a question as he starts to walk with me towards the fairy hills, where the girls in fairy tail have their apartments.

"Um, but fairy hills only allows girls in, not boys, Gajeel." I remind him quietly.

"Gihihi, we'll see about that, shall we?" He doesn't look worried but then he never looks like anything unless he wishes to. What I would give to be inside that head of his.

Gajeels POV

That shrimp is gonna get herself hurt over her single minded passion for books. But something drew me towards her and I couldn't control it. Hard to believe, me who controlled everything and everyone, couldn't control my feeling over the little blue haired girl. But I guess falling for someone wasn't up to you.

I don't know what possessed me to spend more time with her when she clearly wanted to read her book but I was curious as to what her apartment looks like. The little obstacle of actually not being allowed inside fairy hills will be easy to bypass with Lily, my exceed cat who can fly me to one of the windows.

We were silent all the way till we got to the fairy hills and it was silent inside, suspiciously silent. Was everyone in the guild hall or somewhere else? I turned to look at Levy and was struck speechless for a second as I saw how the light reflected off her short blue curls, it took restraint not to take her hair and twist in in my fingers, to hear her little gasp of surprise.

"Are you alright Gajeel?" Shit I spaced out, what did she ask me? No more daydreams of Levy when with Levy I tell myself sternly as I answer with a head nod.

"I said," she says with her usual quietness, "that there seems not to be anyone here so you can just come up normally."

What would it take to get her to speak loudly, I wonder. What would it take to break through to the real woman underneath the quiet bookworm?

Levys POV

Why did he want to come with me? I just wanted to read my book in peace but I had to admit that the company was a nice change. One thing does still baffle me, why does he keep hanging out with me when there are clearly more fun and important people out there? I'm boring in comparison.

As we mount the stairs that lead to my apartment I look at him and can't deny that he is gorgeous, in a dangerous controlled way. He reminds me of a character I once read about, so strong and controlled, living by the light of the moon and doing unspeakable things in a club where he ruled by being the most dominant.
