Lucy stirs from the dream (nightmare) she was currently experiencing due to the sounds of crying from the hall outside her room. Even though it pains her greatly with the current scrapes and bruises covering a good 20% of her body, especially on her arms and legs, she manages to stand up from her bed and walk outside in the hall. Looking down, she is greeted by Nate sat curled up in a ball on the floor, his face is tear stained and by the looks of things, he's been crying for quite a long time. Cautiously, she walks over to him and sits down besides him on the floor. Her natural instinct to make sure people are okay overtaking the pain that told her if she sat down, she probably wouldn't be able to stand back up for a couple of hours. Taking a deep breathe, she speaks to the boy.
"Are you okay?" She pauses for a beat before adding "Okay, stupid question, you're not okay, you're sat outside in a hospital crying... Do you want to talk about it? I get that you don't know me and I'm just a random stranger but I've been told sometimes talking to a stranger is sometimes easier than talking to someone you know..." She was rambling and they both knew it, but she was nervous and wants to try and help. Looking at Nate, she tries to give him the most comforting smile she has. Deep down she thinks that maybe helping him feel okay would make the guilt that was currently eating her up on the inside may ease a little. She knows exactly why she is in the hospital, they'd crashed, and it was her fault. If she hadn't told Rosie about everything that had happened, the argument in the car wouldn't have happened and they wouldn't be here. Everything going on was her fault, and obviously the cuts and bruises were just karma for it all. She felt that she deserves to be in the shitty situation right now, not some random male who was most likely crying in the halls for something she'd caused.
"It's Brenda... My friend, she... She..." Nate starts while trying to control his tears, but he finds it hard, talking about it isn't helping but sadly making it worse. The tears that he was trying so hard to fight off were coming back and taking hold, rolling slowly down his cheeks before he even had the opportunity to try and stop them.
Slowly to make sure the male didn't hate the whole physical contact thing, she puts her arm around the back of the male. It was just her arm across the top of his arms and behind her head to try and help him feel a little better. At first, he resists the hug, trying to brush her off just like he had with his tears. However, after a couple of seconds, he stops resisting the hug and wraps his arms around the female, crying into her shoulder. Lucy adjusts herself on the floor, bringing him closer to her to try and give him as much comfort as she can, in the process of holding him, she whispers 'it's okay, let it out' over and over. She tells herself that she can't move or at least let the male go until he looks or at least sounds better than she had when she wrapped her arms around him to begin with. So that's what she does.
