Chapter 6

"Micheal?" exclaimed Noah when he saw his best friend with his worst enemy walk into Fresco hand-in-hand. "Hey Noah! What are you doing here?" said Micheal in a surprised voice, running a hand through his deep brown hair, Susie turned her eyes away from Noah and poked Micheal on the side,"Mikey? I found ourselves a table. Look! It's over there..." she said pointing at a table at the far end of Fresco. "That's brilliant! Why don't you...uh...sit there. I'll be with you in a sec." and giving her a peck on the cheek that somehow made Noah's cheeks flame.

Susie smiled at him sweetly and went off in the opposite direction. "So? Am I doing good?" asked Micheal nervously. Noah found this weird because nervousness was something he could never expect from Micheal especially about a girl like Susie. "Yeah..." trailed off Noah, looking ludicrously at Micheal who was glancing at Susie...again.

"Micheal? Seriously dude, what's wrong?" inquired Noah looking at his best friend glance desperately at Susie. "Nothing....I'm fine...." replied Mike dazedly, now smiling big at Susie. "Listen bro, can I come over later? She's...uh...kinda waiting for me over there..." said Micheal, finally looking at Noah and almost getting up from the red leather seat infront of Noah. "Sure..." he replied, very confused.

He watched Micheal trot over to Susie's table and say him possibly apologize to Susie. She smiled at Micheal and he said something that made her laugh. Sitting way across the room, Noah felt a pang of.....something he couldn't put his finger on.

On his way back home, Noah pondered on his jumbled up thoughts....He couldn't possibly be falling for Susie. He was supposed to feel jubilant that Susie wasn't stalking him anymore but somehow, something felt awkward and weird. The fact that she didn't even look at him at Fresco and the fact that she seemed so into Micheal....

It was something Noah couldn't understand - at all. 'Women!' he thought to himself, throwing his hands up in frustration. He decided that he would try to forget about Susie, atleast for now, and focus on his date with the much-wanted Mia Burns that weekend and with a new skip in his step, he walked home.

Susie, on the other hand, had never had so much fun in her life. The only person she had ever cared about, tried to impress had been Noah but now that she had Micheal? Who cared about boring old Noah. Micheal was fun, flirty and fit. Everything that any girl could possibly dream of! And he was hers....What Susie was most victorious about was the way she had pointedly pretended that Noah didn't exist.

After all, who needed Noah anymore? Not Susie Rayner.

"So, where are you planning on taking me this Friday?" she said curiously, fluttering her eyelashes at him. "I hope it wasn't Fresco!" she said amusedly and he laughed - his deep, throaty male laugh that sent butterflies twirling in her stomach. "I was....but not anymore I guess!" he teased her lightly and laughed at her mock-shocked expression.

"No-Micheal!" she said hurridly, hoping her slip of the tongue was not noticedby No.-Micheal. Thankfully, he hadn't noticed and she breathed out a sigh of happiness...and relief.

'Stop thinking of him! You're over him!' she told herself sternly, in her head ofcourse. And tried to do her best in having a cheerful conversation....but a thought kept nagging her..

Noah didn't seem upset at all when she ignored him so openly.....hmm...
