Chapter 1
Hi, I'm Avery. My best friend is Calum Hood. We've known each other since we were little since our moms were best friends. They hang out constantly. I am 17 currently and I admit, I kind of have a little crush on Calum. I just don't know if he feels the same way. I don't want this to get between us so I keep it my little secret.

"Avery, get up! It's time for school!" I heard my mom yell up the stairs. "Ugh, I'm up, I'm up!" I yelled back. I turned off my fan, and got out of bed. I walked over to my closet. I saw literally nothing to wear. After many tries of trying to find what outfit to wear, I eventually picked out a plain grey v-neck and some black skinny jeans. I walked over to the bathroom to get ready.
I unlocked my phone and entered the music app. I hit shuffle and the first song to come up was messin around by pitbull. I looked in the mirror. "I look rough." I said to myself. I undressed from my oversized band t-shirt and shorts and slipped on my bra and underwear. I put on my grey v-neck and black skinny jeans. Shaking my leg up and down to eventually get my skinny jeans on. Boy, those were tough.
I grabbed my brush and brushed through my tangly hair and heated up my straightener. While I was waiting for my straightener to heat up, I grabbed some brown eyeshadow since it looks good with my green eyes, and applied that to my eyelids. I then put some eyeliner on and some mascara. I applied some red lipstick on my lips. Then I grabbed my straightener and piece by piece I straightened my blonde hair. After about 25 minutes, I was done.
I walked down the stairs and grabbed an apple. I heard a car horn outside my house and immediately knew it was Calum. I grabbed my bookbag and yelled "Bye mom!"
"Bye honey, have a good day!" I heard my mom reply. I slipped on my converse and ran outside. I threw my bookbag in the back and sat in the front seat. "Hey, Avery. Woah, you look amazing-er I mean you look really dressed up."
"Oh, thanks Calum," I said while blushing, "you don't look to dressed down yourself." He was wearing a black green day shirt and black skinny jeans and his vans. His usual.
"Thanks Av." He said laughing. Av was his nickname for me. I loved it when he called me that.
He started up the car and pulled out of my driveway. "Hey, I hear you're coming over my house tonight because our parents are going to a club. I guess they aren't coming home until Sunday. Guess they're really gonna party hard because it's Friday." He said laughing, giving me a wink.
"Oh yeah, I heard about that too."
"You know what that means."
"Uh no, what does it mean." I said laughing.
"Netflix and pizza!!"
"Oh, how could I forget about that?"
"Dude, I don't know. But looks like we are at school. See ya 3rd period."
"Alright, bye Cal."
I opened the door and grabbed my bookbag, heading to my locker. I grabbed my science, history, and English books and started to walk to science. A hour passed and I switched to history, that was upstairs. Another hour passed of boredom and I walked to English. Calum found me in the hallway and we walked together.
"Math is so boring, you'll probably fall asleep."
"Good, I can use some sleep." I said laughing. He pushed me lightly and laughed with me. We grabbed our seats which I sat in front of him and he sat behind me.
25 minutes into the class I heard Calum whisper "psst Avery." I turned around and said "what cal?"
"Did you get the answer to number 7, I uhh can't pay attention." He said blushing. I wondered why he couldn't pay attention but didn't bother to ask.
"Sure." I passed him my paper and he copied the answer down. He handed me it back and said "Thanks" he flashed me his goofy smile and I couldn't help myself from laughing.
"Miss. Avery, what do you find so funny?" Mrs. Tomlinson asked me sternly. "Uhh, I thought of something funny I guess, I'm sorry for interrupting." I heard Calum snicker from my reply. I hit his foot behind me. "Ouch."
"Don't 'think of something funny I guess' again Avery."
"Alright, sorry."
Finally that class was over and I headed to my locker. I grabbed my money for lunch and saw someone lean up against the locker beside me. "Hey, Av." The voice sounded familiar. I turned to the side and saw Calum and waved. "Let's go."
We waited in line and talked about English class, and Calum said "you didn't have to hit my foot missy" as he glared at me.
"You were snickering! Not my fault." I said as I crossed my arms over my chest. I ordered pizza and payed. I walked over to the table Calum and I sit at. One of my good friends Olivia sat at the table with her boyfriend Jarrett.
"Hey guys, how's it going." I asked.
"Great!" She said as she gave Jarrett a kiss. "I love you." Jarrett told Olivia.
"I love you too" Olivia said blushing. It almost made me puke. I sat down next to Olivia and soon Calum sat down across from me. Jarrett asked Calum, "Dude, can I have your chocolate milk, I'm thirsty." Calum handed him his milk and we ate while talking about stupid stuff.
I finished the rest of the day and drove home with Calum. The adventure of tonight waited before us.
