Chapter 9~
Ashley was hospitalized again, which she hated. But Jade, Nikki and Dani visited her all the time so she was fine with it. She got out in around 3 months, and was very happy about it.
Jade walked down the hall of her high school, alone. She never got comfortable without someone by her side. But she’d have to manage. Everyone moved out of her way. This is how it should be. She thought to herself. She smiled. Everyone was still afraid of her, even more now that she had been involved in a murder case.
At lunch Jade sat alone, though still feared by everyone, she was lonely without anyone by her side.
“This seat taken?” Donna asked.
“Not at all.” Jade said, and Donna sat down. They quickly hit it off, becoming best friends almost instantly.
Little did Jade know, Donna had her own secrets.
Nikki and Jade exchanged a look in the hallway. Jade smiled and gave her a small nod. After a minute Nikki smiled and gave a small nod back.
Nikki went to visit Ashley after school and brought her her homework that she had missed. She had been tutoring and bringing Ashley her homework for the past few months.
They had become much better friends since then and were always hanging out. Everyday after Nikki got out of school. They’d watch movies, Nikki made Ashley eat at least a chocolate bar, or fruit whichever she could get her to eat, and played games on Ashley’s Xbox.
Everyone was happy.
Well, not exactly everyone.
“Courtney Vaught still missing, as well as Eric Conrad and Vicky Lovington. There has been no sign of a breakthrough on the case.” Dani switched the tv off. Vicky Lovington was the girl who was murdered by Eric, Dani figured. The murder who started this whole crazy time.
And Dani couldn’t be happier. If the murder had never happened, Jade, Ashley, Nikki and Dani would have never become such great friends. But, all friends have secrets they never tell anyone, not even their closest friend.
But Dani never told them about Courtney and Eric.
Dani has to keep that secret until the day that she dies.
Even if it kills her.
