"Ally!" I shout as I run up the stairs to the roof of her house. I burst through the attic window and run to where she is standing on the edge.
"Ally don't do this please!" I plead as tears stream through my eyes. She looks back and her long caramel hair blow in her face as she leans forward.
"I can't do this anymore Sadie." I wildly try and grasp her hand but her body limply falls from the roof as she lands on the ground.
"NO!" I scream as anger and sadness take over me. My best friend is dead.*3 years earlier*
I walked into my school, my first day of 10th grade, yay. I hated school actually. I walked to my locker and put in my combo, tossing my jacket my mom made me bring and kept my backpack over my shoulders like a bullet proof vest as I walked to my first hour class: Science. I walked in the room and grabbed a seat in the corner near the back of the room. I set my bag down and grabbed my notebook labeled science.
"Hey kid." I hear someone say and look up to see an older girl sitting 2 seats in front of me.
"You can't sit there." She said as she was putting in an earring in one of her numerous piercings. Her caramel colored hair was long and her skin was deeply tanned. She was skinny but a little muscular and had a tattoo on her hand. She was wearing blue skinny jeans and a muscle tee.
"Excuse me?" I say softly and she laughs as she looks over to a skinny dark haired boy who smirked. His face was covered in acne and incredibly pale. His eyes sparkled in mischief. He was wearing black skinny jeans and a back t-shirt.
"You heard me punk. You can't sit there. Only juniors can sit in the back." I stare at her as she says that. She turns back to the boy and says,
"Can you believe it Cullen? A softmore who can't hear." He smiled with that glint in his eye and turned to me.
"You heard Ally. Beat it kid." I grab my bag and slowly move to the next seat over but 'Ally' put her feet on it and sneered,
"Or that one." I sighed, annoyed and walked around the room but there weren't any other seats. I stood in front of the room by the teachers desk and just as they came in I turned around and bumped into a rather mad looking woman.
"Oh I'm so sorry!" I say as she glares at me.
"Please take a seat." She says sternly and I look around again to see Ally smirking and Cullen trying to hide his laughing.
"I can't find a seat." I say softly and she looks around the room and says,
"Well there is one open behind Ms. Water in the back if your not blind." I look again and the girl named Ally raised her hand and waved with a smug look in her face. I internally groaned as I went to sit down behind her. The teacher introduced herself as Mrs. Nelson and started talking about all the stuff we're covering this year and blah blah. From the bored looks on everyone's face I guessed she was like this a lot. At the end of the class I got up to leave but Ally stopped me by grabbing my arm.
"Why don't you sit with us today at lunch." She says with a nice smile.
"Uh okay." I said instead of looking like a total loser.
"I didn't quite catch your name." She says before I turned to leave,
"Sadie, Sadie Jackson." I said and she nodded. At lunch I was in line and grabbed a slice of pizza, some chips and a can of Sprite. I payed and walked into the lunch room. I looked around for Ally and she waved to me. I walked over to her table and saw Cullen next to her. I ate in silence until Cullen looked towards me,
"How come we didn't see you last year here?" He asked and I shrugged,
"I'm not very social. You might know my brother though, Jake Jackson." I say nervously.
"Your Jake's sister?" One of the people at the table asks loudly and I nod.
"Hey Sadie!" I hear someone tell from a few tables over. I look to see my brother stand up and walk over to me.
"Don't go telling people your my sister." He whispers and he grabs my shirt and shoves me against a wall.
"Because as far as I'm concerned, you are nothing to me." He whispers again before he yells, "NOTHING!" He kicks me in the shins and steps back, ready to punch me.
"HEY! Hey Jake! Leave your sister alone." Another boy yells and I look over to see a tall boy with straight short brown hair.
"Later Will!" My brother yells as he punches me hard in the ribs before I can escape. I crumple to the ground as pain inflames my side. I hear laughing from the whole lunch room.
"Hey Jackson! Leave her alone right now!" I hear a girl tell my brother and look up as another punch is thrown to my face and I feel a wave of pain as blood falls from my face. I see Cullen holding my brother away from me as Ally is standing up and pointing her finger in his face.
"You might punch guys like that all the time but you never touch a girl unless she makes the first move. I should expect since she's your sister you would respect her a little more." She says and then she kicked him in a place I'd rather not describe and brought her hand to his eye. He groaned and Cullen let him go as he stumbled away from Ally. Ally walks toward me and roughly picks me up.
"Come on Sadie. He'll be fine." She says as she supports my weight and we walk out as Cullen throws a few more lunches at Jake. We walk to the bathroom...well she walks and half drags me. She leans me against the wall once we go in and grabs paper towel from the dispenser and wets it in the sink. She starts soaking up blood from my face and I wince.
"Shh, stay still and it'll be over sooner." She whispers as she finished up. She throws away the paper towel when my nose stopped bleeding.
"Show me your leg." She says and I roll up my pants to reveal a black bruise. Ally reached into her pocket and pulled out some kind of cream.
"This'll help it hurt less." She says as she smears some of the stuff on my shin. Once done with the she tells me to sit in my sink edge.
"Show me what damage he did to your ribs." She says and I obey by slightly lifting my shirt to reveal a sickly looking black and purple bruise that was the size of a tennis ball and it was growing too.
"Man kid I got nothin' for that. Just take some pain meds and take it easy."
"How do you know so much about stuff like this?" I ask in bewilderment.
"I used to have a brother who beat me up a lot. You learn these thugs over time." She shrugs and I reply,
"You must hate him." She gets the ghost of a smile on her face and says
"No...he's the best brother ever now." I look getup and down again and realize a few things I failed to notice the first time. She had on a skull ring on her left middle finger and three various rings on her other middle finger.
"Why did you stand up for me there? I mean in science you didn't seem thrilled with me. She rolled her eyes and smiled.
"That's always Cullen's idea. He likes to embarrass people, don't take it seriously. He's actually a nice kid. Come on, we should go." I got up and as we walked out she put her arm around my shoulders. She guided me to a back door that I didn't know existed and pushed me out.
"Why are we out here?" I ask as we walk to a rusty red car that she climbs in the drivers seat.
"Skipping school. You deserve a break." She winks at me and I have no choice but to get in the passenger side. I know it's not right to skip school but Ally had stood up for me and beaten the sh!t out of my brother for me.
