Becca's Story II: The Spilt

Chapter Eight: Home Again

I looked and saw he didn't shoot him in the head but the shoulder "Becca?" Rick said looking at me. I looked at Rick and I felt tears in my eyes and I looked at Jesus, "why in the hell did you shoot him!?" I yelled at him, "because he was gonna hurt you!" Jesus said, "Jesus, if I didn't know who they were, I wouldn't have jumped out of the truck and probably stabbed myself with my best friends knife!" I said. "Well Jesus, because you decided to shoot them, you shot Daryl!" I finish, "well how in the living hell am I supposed to know, all I knew you jumped out of the truck like a suicidal idiot!" Jesus said. I knelt down and checked to see how bad Jesus had gotten Daryl and saw he needed medical attention, "so you have Carl's knife, he went crazy looking for it," Rick said, "I went looking for him with Lucy before we left, and all I found was his knife so I grabbed it and Lucy and I ran," I said, "Jesus help Rick grab Daryl, we can bring them back to Hill Top and give him some help," I finished. Jesus and Rick grabbed Daryl and we brought them back to the truck, "Jesus you drive to Hill Top and I'll be in the back with Rick and Daryl in the back of the truck," I said. Jesus got into the front to drive as Rick, Daryl, and I got into the back as Jesus started driving. "So, you've been with Jesus all winter?" Rick asked, "yeah, they're really nice and a protective group, how about you, saw you finally won the war with the beard," I said laughing, "well, we went to a place called Terminus, but it wasn't safe, they were gonna kill us and eat us, so we quickly got out of there with the help of Carol, then we got to a group called Alexandria, at near by gated community," Rick said, "the leader of the group, is her name Deanna?" I asked, "she was, yeah, how do you know?" He asked, "I was on a run before winter with Jesus, I ran into there and they gave me a box of supplies," I said, "oh, that was you, she told us about that," Rick said, "so, is everyone ok?" I asked, "no, not everyone, a lot of people passed," Rick said with a long pause and looked at Daryl. I looked over at him and Daryl had a very straight face and looked upset, I gave a half smile and got up and hugged Daryl and Rick, "do you think you could tell me?" I asked, "yeah, sure, but Glenn is safe," Rick started, "Bob, Tyreese, Mika, Lizzie, we had a man named Noah that came in from Beth, before she.." Rick said stopping. Rick and Daryl saw my face, at first I was sitting on my knees but when we said that it happened to her too, I fell with tears coming to my eyes. The rest of the ride was almost completely quiet, "if you guys don't mind, I'd like to come back," I said, "of course, you're still family," Rick said. I looked at him and laughed a little, I forgot what happiness really was, it's really me being with my family, who ice been with since the beginning. The rest of the way to Hill Top, Rick, Daryl and I were talking about what we could about with what happened after the prison and everything. We got to Hill Top and I helped Daryl to the doctor and then I went to Jesus who was talking to Rick, "hey I was thinking, maybe we could split what's in the truck?" I said looking at Jesus and Rick, "maybe we could work it out?" Jesus said, "hey Jesus, you guys wouldn't care if I went back with them for the night, to you know, see my family, and in the morning, we can come back and maybe make an agreement, Alexandria and Hill Top work together and we can make it better," I said, "yeah maybe," Jesus said, "what do you mean, work together?" Rick asked, "we partner with groups, and we support and supply one another with supplies and other help the other group may need or want, we do it with tons of groups," I said, "yeah, maybe we can come back with Glenn, Maggie, Daryl a couple others and check out the place," Rick said, "sounds like a plan," I said, "wait, Becca, I don't think going tonight will work," Jesus said, "why not?" I asked, "Negan's group comes tomorrow for supplies, we gonna want to talk to you," Jesus said, "we'll be back by the time he gets here, or if he does come then tell him that I'm on a run," I said, "without me?" He said, "wait, Negan said he was gonna come at next weeks pick-up," I said, "who is this Negan guy? I remember the other day Daryl was talking about this guy who said Negan was gonna take them with him," Rick said, "we should talk more about it tomorrow, it will probably be best if we do, we'll have more time to talk," I said. We had finished unpacking half the supplies on the truck for Hill Top when we left and drove back to Alexandria. "Carol," Rick said over the walkie, "yeah?" she replied, "we're on our way back, and we have an old friend, we're bringing her back to," he said. After that I smiled and zoned out, before we left I had left Alexis with Jesus's friend because I didn't want to have to look after her while I was with my family, I was so happy and excited, to see Glenn again, Carl, everyone. "Carl is really upset, we lost his half of the best friend necklace her got for the two of you for your birthday," Rick said, "no, I found it, he dropped it along with his knife," I said pulling it out of a small box I had found at Hill Top. It was a while later when we got to Alexandria, we pulled up to the gate and Rick honked a certain way to get it, when a guy with a black mullet opened the gate. "Daryl Becca, the two of you get out and wait here for me, I'll be back I'm gonna bring the truck to the food storage so people can start unpacking," Rick said pulling over. Me and Daryl got out and I was very happy, I hugged Daryl and smiled and he just put an arm back around me, "who is this?" the guy with the mullet said, "she's an old friend, she got separated from the group after the prison, we told you about the prison didn't we?" Daryl said, "yes sir you did," he said, "I'm Eugene, pleasure to make your acquaintance," Eugene said, "I'm Becca, nice to meet you too," I said, "alright lets go," Rick said coming back brining us away, "Becca you're gonna want to see Carl, but there's something you should know what happened," Rick said as I looked to me left, I saw Carl and the first thing I thought was 'oh my god...' I looked at Carl, and I saw, he was missing his right eye. I looked at Rick and he looked back at me, it was just Carl and he was talking to Carol, "Carl! Carol!" Rick said loudly but still softly because of any near by walkers. They looked to the side and at first looked at Rick but then saw me, I stood there staring at Carl, with tears in my eyes and a huge smile. Carl then started running towards me, and I started running to him, we ran into each other's arms and hugged one another tight, even tighter then when we first saw each other back at the prison when I was with Michonne. Carl and I looked at each other and we smiled at each other when it happened so suddenly, for the first time, his lips had met with mine, I didn't know what to do , but deep on the inside, I was happy, I was having my first kiss, and it was with my best friend, one of the people who I loved the most. "Carl..?" Rick said right after wards. It was kind of awkward, Rick was confused on what happened like me, Carl was embarrassed and felt awkward, again like me, Daryl was trying not to laugh, and Carol was glaring at Daryl and was also kind of confused. I was standing there laughing a little but my face was completely red from embarrassment. "We should probably go find Glenn and Maggie for Becca, Carl, I'm gonna be talking to you later," Rick said to us. I had hugged Carol and she told us that they were most likely in the house. So we had walked a little towards their house, "we'll let you be with you family, we're gonna go do what we need to do for the day," Rick said, "and go talk to Carl," I said laughing, "yeah," Rick said laughing but a little more serious. I walked onto the porch and knocked on the door, "hello?" Maggie said opening the door and then saw me, "oh my god!" She said hugging me tight, "we all started thinking you were dead," she said, "it's ok, I almost started thinking the same thing about you guys, but I didn't want to give up yet," I said, "Glenn's inside, he's in the shower, so just wait in the living room," Maggie said, "oh, and I need to tell you something, everyone knows, but you since we didn't know where you were, but... I'm pregnant," Maggie said, "oh my god, really! I'm gonna be an aunt!?" I said smiling really happy, "it's ok, I didn't tell anyone this either, other then the fact that it just happened, and only three people witnessed it, but I had my first kiss!" I said laughing "oh wow! Who kissed you?" Maggie said, "Carl," I said smiling, "and... I don't know, I think I liked it, because on the outside, I was really confused, but on the inside, I was happy," I said, "it's probably because you love him, I don't know, I could be wrong," Maggie said, "Maggie who's down there with you?" Glenn yelled from upstairs, "I don't know, why don't you come down here and see," Maggie said, "hold on, let me get dressed, I forgot to bring clothed into the bathroom," Glenn said going into the other room. I waited down stairs for a couple of minutes when Glenn came down stairs and saw me, "Becca!?" He said and immediately hugged me, "hi Glenn," I said in tears. Glenn told me how much he loves and missed me when he asked about Alexis and Lucy, I explained to him how I left Alexis at my group, and tried explaining about Lucy to him, but he doesn't believe me when I told him that he wont hurt Lucy. "How do you know this guy wont hurt her!? He tried to kill Daryl, Sasha and Abraham!" Glenn said, "they must be different people, because he promised me we wouldn't hurt the people I care about," I said, "Becca, I just want you to know, you can't believe people in this world anymore! Everyone in this world is untrustworthy!" Glenn said, "you know what, Glenn believe what you want to, but I trust that he wont hurt her," I said as I walked out of the house. I walked around the group and I sat down on the curb and sighed. "Becca?" Someone said walking towards me, I looked up and saw Michonne, I got up and hugged her, "when did you get here?" she asked, "about an hour ago," I said, "and you didn't come and see me?" She said laughing, "first I went to see Glenn, and on the way to see him I saw Carl," I said, "I thought you had died," she said as we looked at each other, "I almost thought you almost died," I said. Michonne and I sat down and talked for a while when I left telling her I wanted to talk to Carl about something that had happened earlier. "Carl," I said coming up from behind, "yeah?" Carl said turning away from a girl who looks about our age, "can I talk to you about earlier... alone?" I said, "uh, yeah, sure of cores," Carl said. He looked back at the girl telling her he'd be right back and we walked over to the side so we could talk without the girl hearing, "I wanted to know, why did you kiss me earlier?" I asked, "oh, uh, I guess the moment?" Carl said unsure, "I don't think that's the reason Carl," I said with a small laugh, "I know, I just wanted to do that, I was tempted to kiss you back at the prison, when we were in the guard tower, but I didn't have the guts, and my dad had called me," he said kind of nervously, "well Carl, to be honest, I actually kind of liked, it, I do kind of like you Carl," I said smiling, "really? I never really thought you would like me like that in return," Carl said with a chuckle, "Carl, we've been friends for years, of cores I like you," I said, "well, Becca, I like you too," Carl said with a smile. I smiled back at him and hugged him, "I got to get going, I need to talk to Glenn, I left the house with the two of us on bad terms, I'll see ya later?" I said with a smile as I stopped hugging him. "Yeah, I'll see ya later," he said. We both looked at each other and smiled as a I left and ran back to the house that Glenn is staying at, "Glenn?" I said walking in and saw him down stairs with Maggie, "Glenn, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that, I just want to be able to know that there is still good in the world and that all people aren't that bad," I said, "it's ok Becca, and I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have blown up on you like that, you want to believe there is still good in the world, and I don't blame, you, I want to see it too." Glenn said getting up and hugging me. I hugged Glenn back with a smile when we all sat down for dinner, "Becca, did you tell Glenn," Maggie said looking over to me, "tell him what," I said with a small smile looking back up at her, "you and Carl?" She said, "oh yeah, huh. Glenn, if I tell you this, promise not to kill Carl?" I said with a small laugh, "what is it?" Glenn said, "umm, Carl, uhh, kissed me" I said with a small nervous smile, "what!?" Glenn said trying not to go crazy, "yeah, I talked to Carl about it, he told me he really likes me, and I told him I like him too," I said still with a small smile, "Becca, as much as I want to be mad, I can't be, you're growing up, and I can't keep you from falling in love with people, but I don't want to dating him just yet, ok?" Glenn said, "I still want you to be my baby sister," Glenn said trying not to tear up. I looked at him kind of laughing, "Glenn, whether I date Carl or not, I'm always gonna be your baby sister, and if not, you'll have Alexis who is still a baby," I said laughing. It was later that night, I was sitting outside on the porch and the girl started walking passed when she stopped when she saw me and walked over, "I'm Enid," she said, "Becca," I replied, "how do you know Carl, I've never seen you around before," Enid said, "we are friends, from before the apocalypse, and we were in a group with one another back at a prison, I don't know if he told you about that or not," I said, "he only told me a little about it," Enid said, "I'm sorry if I took Carl away earlier if you guys were having an important conversation," I said, "no it wasn't really important, it was just a chat mainly," she said, "yeah, I just really had to talk to him about something really important," I said, "it's alright, but I guess I'll see you around," she said starting to walk away, "yeah, see ya," I said has she walked away. It was later on, I had went up stairs to go to sleep when I thought right before I drifted away, "I'm home again," I thought when it went black and I had fallen asleep.
