They sat beneath the sky, hand in hand watching as dancing stars flew across the brilliant night sky, dark indigo with patches and swirls of cyan and purple, and dotted with bright little lights. One by one, they streamed ahead them, flying to the other end of space. Her eyes were widened at the beauty of it all, the stars and moon reflecting on the (e/c) pools of her bright eyes. And Cloud Strife could care less about the ongoing meteor shower. What amazed him was the beauty of the girl sitting next to him, smiling as she looked up at the sky.
The spikey blonde found himself absentmindedly smiling as well, getting lost in her beauty. (Y/n) glanced up at his smiling face, the long hidden happiness glinting in his bright blue mako-infused eyes. "Whaddya smiling at, Storm-Cloud?" She michivously smirked at the ex SOLDIER. She could visibly see him snap out of his thoughts with a couple of blinks of his eyes, a blank expression on his face. "I-I uh..." He couldn't seem to find the words; he was like a lost tourist trying to find his hotel room in a foreign country. She giggled at the 'storm cloud', who struggled to find his words. "What's the matter?" She asked him, fully turning her attention twords him. "N-nothing." He said, slightly regaining his composure. "It's just, you look nice underneath the sky." He said, returning his smile, looking back down at her. She smiled back at him, a slight tint on pink coloring her (s/c) cheeks. They with returned they're gaze to the sky, smiling as they both watched the stars fell across the infinite heavens.
"Hey Cloud?" She called, her voice entered his ears like a melody. "Yea, (y/n)?" He answered, his eyes still fixed on the vivid night sky. "Have you ever made a wish on a shooting star?" She asked him, turning her gaze to fix it on the male sitting next to her. She looked at him as he stared at the sky, looking at peace- content- you may say. "No, I haven't. Why would you do that?" He asked, looking down at her. She giggled, seeing his slightly confused expression. "Well, my Mother used to tell me and my sister that if you wished on a shooting star, it will come true. But, if you wished for something bad, you'd be cursed forever with nightmares. But if your wish was in goodwill and selfless, it would come true, and you'd be blessed with good dreams until you die." She told him, looking down at the black and white blanket the two were sitting on. "Did you believe it?" He asked her, a slight smile on his face. "Well, yeah. I was a kid. Free wishes for stargazing? Who wouldn't take that chance?" She answered, laughing afterwards. Cloud chuckled, leaning back and shifting his weight into his hands that now propped him up. "Well, I guess your right. But do you believe it now?" He asked, now showing off a grin. "Hm..maybe!" She said with a playful grin on her face. "And if I do, there's nothing wrong with it!" She said as-a-matter-of-factly, sitting up straight and crossing her arms over her chest. He smiled at her, "she's so childish! It almost feels wrong to be in love with her." Cloud thought in his mind, yet again absentmindedly smiling at her. He didn't even notice a grinning (y/n) staring up at him. "Awfully happy today, aren't we Cloud?" She said, poking him on the cheek. He instantly let a wave of heat and color rose up his face, turning it a vibrant hue. "S-shut up, (y/n)." He said, turning his gaze slightly and regaining his usual frown. (Y/n) grinned at Cloud, a playful glint in her eyes. "Make me! I bet ya can't~" She said, shuting her eyes and turning her face at the sky.
Cloud sighed and smirked, before giving her a chaste kiss on the cheek. "I'd never dream of it." He said, placing his arm around her and closing in the space between their two bodies. (Y/n) relaxed into Cloud's warm embrace despite the raging red color that covered her face. "Heh. Like I believe that, Cloudie." She said, leaning her head on his shoulder and smiling.
The two gazed at the stars together, the swirling colors of the night and the dancing stars reflecting in their joyful eyes. "You know, (y/n)." Cloud started, "I haven't made a wish because I haven't thought of a good one. But I think I found one." He looked down at (y/n) who was already looking up at him with beautiful (e/c) eyes. "Yeah? And what would that be?" She asked with curiosity dancing along her features. "For you to stay by my side forever."
