It was a normal day for Ali Barker.
She was driving to school in her brand new car she just got for her birthday. She was with her three best friends like always. She was just pulling up to her high school when her phone rang. It was her mom.
"Hello"
"Sweetie u need to come home right now. We need to talk about something important."
"Ok, but what about school?"
"We called you in sick"
"Ok. I'll be home as soon as I can. I'm going to stop at IHOP first to get some pancakes. I didn't get breakfast."
"Ok, that's fine. Hurry though.
"Ok , I will. I love you"
"Love you too. Bye"
"Bye"
Ali told her friends she won't be at school today so they got out of the car and she drove off.
When she got home she saw that her father was lying on the couch with a horrible cold. He has had it for the past week and he still went to work. At least that's what her parents told her.
"Ali. Your father and I have something to tell you."
"Mom. Dad. What is it!???!"
