When your heart beats alone in silence
When you are lost and in need of guidance
When the earth shakes and quakes with fear
When your screams are all you hear
I will be your strength with every step you take
I will be beside you in every breath and ache
When death is a simpler option to trying
When there is no reason to keep fighting
When all you want to do is escape the pain and hide
When no one is left to wipe the tears you have cried
I will be your comfort in all the uncertainty
I will be your shadow through the lonely sea
