Chapter 7

seven

Thalia's POV

the training room

i walked into the training room with tony, he was training me on my ice shooting skills.

he taught me how to shoot the icicles out of the palm of my hands, and arms and my feet. we trained for hours, i was finally getting the hang of it. i froze his suit a couple of times, it was funny watching him have to 'thaw' out, that was until his circuits blew up and we had to stop training so he could fix his suit.

"Thalia! watch out!" he yelled looking my way "what?" i yelled, looking his way, i felt a sting in my arm, it was burnt and bleeding everywhere. tony ran over to me the burning sensation getting stronger. tony had shot me with fire. I'm not immune to the heat, and tony's blast of fire must have really got to me. he took my cardigan off and wrapped it around my arm wound. i sighed, knowing this would put me out of training for a while.

"tony, I'm hungry, lets go eat" i said, i stood up and starting walking out of the room, tony following behind. 

we walked into the cafeteria spotting Steve and Clint eating lunch, we grabbed some food and joined them, Natasha, Bruce and Thor joining not long after. 

"so Thalia and i were just learning how to control her ice shooting abilities, i thought it would be best if we all tried to teach her a bit of our strengths, she may not have the abilities of some of us, but it's worth a shot" the others nodded in agreement

"i'll go next" Steve yelled, his hand shooting up in the air, well he needs to calm down a bit, I'm not that interesting. i laughed and nodded,smiling at him.

"i can show you all the equipment i use for my strength. you can try it out" he said smiling

" sure Steve, sounds good" i smiled. i ate more of my sandwich, when i heard some whispering, coming from the table beside us. i looked over, and saw some agents whispering and staring at me. i nudged tony next to me and pointed to the table. he peered behind me and looked at the agents. it was agent hill and some other higher class agents. i decided to use my mind to listen to their conversation.

"can you believe they let that thing on the ship! it almost killed us."  huh? what thing?

"i know, fury thinks she has potential, but i don't see it, she is just like Dr banner, a freak. who shouldn't be here. i cant believe he is putting our loves at risk. all the agents agree"

oh, that thing.. me

i felt tears brimming my eyes, but i didn't let them spill over. i didn't want to look like more or a freak than i already am. especially in front of the avengers.

i disconnected from their conversation. i've heard enough. i looked back down at my food and started playing with it. i've completely lost my appetite.

i stood up "sorry, guys, but i dint feel very well. maybe we can train another time Steve?" i asked, he nodded, looking down, at his food. he was obviously excited to teach me about his powers.

i climbed out of the seat and dumped my tray of food in the bin. i started walking back to my 'new room'. all the agents were staring at me. 

some agents saw you turn into me, and they freaked out. now the word has spread that we're a 'freak'.

i could hear blade's words stiffen when she said the word 'freak'. she would't purposely hurt anyone. only if my life was in danger.

i kept my head down and continued to walk to my room, i did't make eye contact with anyone. i slipped into bed and lay there, motionless. when i heard knocking at my window. huh? who could be knocking? we're thousands of miles up in the air. i ignored it and tried to sleep. even though it's only 5pm I'm exhausted from training, and my arm still hurts. i heard the noise again. and again, then the window smashed and glass flew everywhere. i blocked my face with the blanket, i felt someone grab me around my waist and pull me from the comfort of my bed.

this has not been my week.
