Finally, this was her moment to prove herself. Today was the day of the quidditch selections and it was Rey's dream to make the team. She now was a third year student at Hogwarts and therefore skilled enough to compete in the quidditch tournament. But to do so she first had to make the team and not just any team... Gryffindors' team led by Oliver Wood and nobody was more dedicated to quidditch than Oliver. The Gryffindor team trained 9 times a week, in the evening on school days and in the morning and afternoon in the weekend. Rey knew it wasn't going to be easy, but she wouldn't have it any other way.
"Rey, stop dreaming you're going to be late!" shouted Felice when she came in to the dorm. Rey woke up from her deep thoughts and looked around. 'Bloody hell! The selection is in 15 minutes, you should have warned me sooner!' She jumped off her bed, took off her pj's and rushed into the bathroom with her practice gear in her hands.
'Rey why are you always so late?' Felice asked through the door 'Your ability to always ending up being late just riddles me'
The bathroom door opened and a blonde girl with small curls just falling over her shoulder came out. She smiled proudly and said 'It is a gift'. Causing Felice to face palm, astounded of her silliness .
'Got to go now Fel, are you going to watch later?' Rey asked while she was already walking towards her door. 'Yeah I'll come by later, but eh Rey aren't you forgetting something?' Rey looked around and was this time the one to be astounded. 'My broomstick...' she said quietly to herself and opened her chest to take out a broomstick made of white oak wood, with pitch black hairs and a name carved into the handle 'Arrow'.
After taking her broomstick she ran out of her dorm, climbed out of the window in the hallway and leaped off on her broomstick. This was Rey's way of getting somewhere quickly, but unfortunately McGonagall didn't really like it and gave Rey detention multiple times for it. But selection now was in only 5 minutes so desperate times call for desperate measures.
Rey flew as fast as she could to the quidditch field but to her disappointment she saw that Oliver had already made teams for the selection game. She blasted onto the field and jumped off her broomstick right in front of Oliver and the rest, only to see annoyed and irritated faces looking at her.
'You're late Fawley' Oliver said without even looking at her.'I'm sorry Oliver I lost track of time' Rey said in an attempt to redeem herself. 'You can start as the water girl on the side' Oliver said now looking at her and pointed to an empty bench. Rey stood there debating if she should stand up for herself and her talent or if she should just follow orders. 'Hurry up Fawley, I'm not going to wait all day'. 'Yes sir! I mean Oliver...I mean off course captain' She mumbled and walked with her head down to the side feeling Oliver's gaze on her back.
'Bloody idiot, why can't you just act normal and be on time for once in a while?' She muttered in herself while looking at the rest who were getting one of Olivers' famous speeches. After that they pitched the quaffle and the game began.
The game was already going on for quite a while and Rey still wasn't allowed to play. She was just sitting there alone doing nothing, Oliver wouldn't even sit next to her but instead sat on the bench at the other side of the field making notes and looking at the game. 'Hey Fawley pass me some water!' one of the chasers shouted from above. 'Actually Fawley is my surname, my first name is Rey' Rey responded. 'Yeah whatever water girl' The girl said with a bitch tone. So what did Rey do? 'Wingardium leviosa' she said, pointed at one of the bottles and levitated it just high enough so that it would crash into her face. 'Ow sorry! Now you got water all over yourself' She said sarcastically 'Well I guess I can't help it because I'm just a dumb water girl' The other girl grunted and flew away.
'Hah stupid bitch that will teach her' Rey said to herself. 'Having fun?' A voice from behind her asked. 'Yeah she had it coming and I hate this stupid job so that might have been the best moment of my day' She said. 'Oh yeah? Why are you even here if this job is so stupid? The voice responded. 'Because this stupid prick called Oliver won't let me play, he's sitting right over there' She pointed at the other bench but it was empty '...wait where is he?' Rey suddenly realized who was behind her and turned around so fast that she fell off the bench. 'Ow hi never mind me, I'm just a stupid prick' the voice said. 'Hi...Oliver'
