I got in my 5th period and sat in my seat. I was not having it today, I did not have the patience to listen to a new lesson. We have 2 more weeks of school what is Mrs. Read doing. I'm trying to chill and relax, but I guess it doesn't work like that. Honestly I'm about to just go on my phone today. Oh my god, is this chick legit serious, I scroll through my phone. This girl for real just said the most stupidest thing on Twitter. This class is so boring so I got "Quit Cattin" blasting through my ear buds. I hear my name faintly in the background, but I'm more focused on what's on my screen and earbuds. My earbuds have been yanked out of my ear.
"What the hell?" I whine. "Lexi I find it very disrespectful seeing you on your phone while I lecture. If you are not going to participate in going to have to send you out!" Mrs. Read yells.
"But Mrs. Read lets be real I'm not the only one on my phone." I laughed. "Lexi that's it get up you're going to SRC!" She slams the ruler on her desk. "Excuse me?" I say. "You heard me Lexi, now get up and go to SRC I'm calling them now saying you're on your way." She said bluntly. "Whatever." I grab my stuff and walk out of her class as I slam the door behind me.I continue to jam out to my music as I walk to the Responsibility Center. I've never been to SRC, but looks like I get to cross it off my bucket list of High School. I take a lap around the school before going to SRC because I'm really not trying to be in there. I bump into a few friends I say what's up and we chat for a bit. Then I realize I better head to SRC before the Campus Supervisors come looking for me and think I ditched.
I walked in and saw an old friend Jeremy taking a test in the back. I smiled. There were 3 more kids I've never seen in my life, probably freshmans. I walk towards to the teacher watching the students.
"Good afternoon, I'm Lexi from Read's class." I smiled. "Oh yes I got the call from your teacher, I'm Mr. Harris. Please take a seat on number 8." He points to the seat. "Okay thank you." I walk over.
It's legit so quiet in this room, I stare at the wall in front of me and listen to music.
"Lexi!" Mr. Harris called me over. "Yes?" I walked over to the desk. "I'm sorry, but can you please read this for me I left my reading glasses in the staff room." He handed me the paper. "Yeah of course." I began to read the paper to him, until he gets a call so I stop. "Yes there are seats available. Alright, thank you." Mr. Harris hung up the phone. "Pardon that, please continue." He smiles. "No biggy." I laughed and continued reading. I got cut off again a few minutes later. "Hello, my teacher called a few minutes ago." I hear a boy talking obnoxiously loud. "Name?" Mr. Harris says. "Riley Scofield." The boy says as I look up. He was looking out the door as he talking with Mr. Harris. "Lexi you can head back to your seat I'll just read this later thanks for your help dear." Mr. Harris motions me back to my seat. "No problem." I walk away making no eye contact with the kid. I didn't see his entire face, but lord was the side of his face hot.
Riley Scofield, I wrote his name on my binder right when I got to my seat. His voice and side view was perfection. I told myself once I got home I would search him up. Lord, I don't even know the kid, but it's like I already like him.
"What brings you in today Riley?" Mr. Harris asks. "Our sub Mrs. Skye's, was upset that I came to class late with food in my hands." He continued to eat his pizza. "Always gotta have meal huh kid." Mr. Harris laughs.
I hear a familiar voice. "Hi Mr. Harris." She says. "Jennifer Panik!" I turn around with a quickness. "How have you been sweetie?" He says with joy. "Good, but I'm really over school." She hands him her pass. "Another Read kid huh. Lexi you have company. Sit wherever you want Jenn." He chuckles.
"Ay girl whatsup. What happened in Read?" Jennifer walks toward the seat next to me. "Dude I swear Mrs. Read is on her fucking period." I laughed. "Bruh you see the cutie over there?" I whispered. "No where?" She turns. "The one eating next to Mr. Harris." I looked over. "Oh no his head was down. Oooh girl you like that? Get it." She winks. "He is fucking precious goddamn." We both laughed and went on our phones.
Riley and Mr. Harris continued to talk. I was eavesdropping, acting like I was listening to music, but you know damn when I'm listening to what he got to say. He seemed like such a great and funny person. I was very impressed and even more interested in him. I need to meet this kid. After Riley finished his food he took a seat towards the front of the class. Jennifer was taking a nap and I was still staring at the wall, but now with music. The room was extremely quiet and 20 minutes had pass. I put my head down about to take a nap, when I hear my name and Jennifer's.
"Read girls, your teacher wants you guys to head back to class." Mr. Harris says. I grunted lifting my head back up. I shook Jennifer awake and told her we had to head back. We both got up and went to the desk to get our passes. "Thanks Mr. Harris have a good day!" I walked out before Jennifer. Jennifer walks out. "Oh my god did you see that?!" She jumps on me. "What no see what??" I asked confused. "Girl he looked at you walking out." She smiles. I froze. "Oh my god, no way!!" I squealed. "Did he see you?" She asks. "No I didn't make eye contact with me at all during the entire time in there." I say upset. "Lexi! Omg why not." She shakes her head.
We both walk back to class. I was just so down that I didn't fully see his face before I left. Oh well, I can't doing anything about it now. Jennifer and I walked into Mrs. Read's class and went to her desk. She gave us a talk till the bell rang and dismissed us.
I walked to my locker still not able to stop thinking about this Scofield kid. But it was the end of the day and it was time to go home. I'm over it.
