the trapdoor

Chloe's pov

School was finally out which ment summer vacation, which ment that our family was going to our beach house at the beach , i loved going to the beach the warm sand, making Sand castles , swimming and many other activities. My brothers, teddy and Zac were also excited, i am 10 years old and my brother teddy is 12 and Zac is 14 .
"Mom when are we leaving to the beach"? I asked . My mom gave me a worried look.
"Sorry , honey we can't go to the beach house this summer" she said. My summer was ruined . Ruined . "But, why"? I asked. " well, daddy and I have a lot of work this summer" she said . I felt mad and sad. "Sorry , sweety" she said . I just smiled weakly and went to my room and layed on my bed. Why?. Why do my parents always have work . One my birthday they didn't do anything , no party, nothing . Why? Because of their work, i went to teddy's room to see if he had any idea if what we could do this summer.
Teddy's pov

I was playing video games, curtains closed, snacks by my side and the air conditioner on. Perfect. I was playing call of duty when I heard a knock on my door . *knock knock knock* "who is it"? I said, "it's me , Chloe " . "Come in" I replied . Of course it was chloe she always tried to get me to play with her dolls or something .
"Hey, mom said we aren't going to the beach house because of her dumb job" Chloe said . " mhm" I mumbled while I was playing call of duty . " are you even listening "?
She asked . I nodded . "Let's go outside and play with water balloons or something"
Chloe asked . " I think I'm fine here " I replied . She sighed , but I didn't really wanna play with her right now . I just wanted to play video games for the whole summer .

Chloe's pov

Teddy didn't wanna play with me , and i don't think Zac would either . It sucks being the only sister . I went back to my room and plopped down on my bed . I thought on how boring the summer was , and it just started!. I got up when I thought that reorganizing my room would be cool , i moved my bed towards the window. My bed was actually very light so I didn't have a problem moving it. Then I began moving the shelfs when I saw something. On my wooden floor there was a small door. Not a Door a trapdoor. I was amazed to find it i traced my finger along the line. I thought about opening it . But I couldn't, i was .....well nervous about what was down there.

Teddy's pov

I noticed something strange, the house was quiet . Too quiet , Chloe was always dancing up in her room or playing with her stuffed animals but it was dead silent . And I got suspicious so I went up to her room. "Hey chloe"? I said . I found her sitting in the floor . "What are you doing"? I asked . She looked up "I found this " she replied , i knelt down beside her. " cool" I said , she nodded .

*time skip* chloe's pov

It was night , teddy and i didn't open the trap door . We decided not to . I lay on my bed wide awake , i couldn't sleep , had a nightmare about a dark tunnel . A dark tunnel that seemed to go on forever . I awoke drenched in sweat , i looked at my clock, it was only 3:27 am.

*time skip* teddy's pov

I woke up , and went down to the kitchen, mom was at work and dad was too. I got cereal and started eating , soon, Chloe came downstairs , she looked like she hasn't slept at all. Messy hair, black rings underneath her eyes and her tired eyes. "Hi" I said . She looked up at me "hi" she replied we ate cereal together in silence.
"So , do you wanna check out the trapdoor"? I asked . She nodded

Chloe's pov

Teddy and I went to my room , i moved the shelf and we sat there together looking down at the trapdoor. "Let's open it " I said , teddy gave me a concerned look but he agreed. He slowly put his fingers on the line and pulled the tile up. It looked heavy, and by the look on teddy's face , the trapdoor was heavy to lift
