KENDALL IS ON THE RIGHT----->
The loud sirens and shouts from my sister, Aaralyn, are what jolted me awake. My mind was wavering from fantasy to reality, making me see black dots all around my room. I guess I was still heavily intoxicated from all the alcohol I consumed last night.
"Kendall," my sister whisper yelled while shaking me awake, "Kendall you need to get up, we need to leave!"
I wasn't the least bit interested until I heard a heavy knock coming from our front door, "Open up, this is the police."
With that I quickly got out of bed, throwing my dirty clothes into my suitcase, "Do you have your stuff packed?"
"I'm already 10 paces ahead of you," Aaralyn replied with a smirk. She ran over to my bedroom window and thrusts it open. In one swift movement we chucked our suitcases out the window, and soon followed, making our way down the fire escape.
I placed my Ray Bans over my eyes while I kept watch so Aaralyn could snatch us a car. This was our life, running away from our problems instead of facing them, but that's all we ever knew.
By the time my sister had gotten us a car, the police were already breaking into our "apartment." I guess the Realtor discovered that there was actually people living there.
I glanced over at my sister, noticing that her dark brown hair was pulled back into a messy bun, revealing the scar just under her right ear. I can almost remember the incident perfectly, our moms pshyco boyfriend, at the time, had drank to much and lashed out at her. The day after, our mom left us.
Since then, we've never stayed in one place for more than a few weeks at a time. We've basically been to every major city along the west coast, ranging from the cities in New Mexico, all the way up in Washington.
"Where are we heading now?" I asked her as we were heading down Interstate 80, out of Sacramento, California.
Keeping her eyes on the road, she smirked, "I was thinking Washington D.C."
"What?!" I yelled, shocked that she would think such a thing, "We're running away from the government, not heading towards it!"
She waved her hand at me and spoke calmly, "Calm down Kenny, do you think they would actually suspect us to go to a place where they're swarming?"
"Aaralyn," I paused, "the government knows everything."
She looked at me, "Then tell me why they've not found us, after 3 years of being wanted?"
"Touche," I smiled, "Washington D.C here we come!"
"That's the spirit!" my sister laughed.

Hey everybody! Malarkey here! I know it's a tad short but it's only to lay a base coat down. When we get further in, the chapters will (hopefully) pick up! I hope you all liked it!
