"I'm not giving up on you Rosie!" whispered Abigail, still reading in homeroom. "The talent show is in two weeks", said Roselitta. "The signup deadline is tomorrow and I'm far from ready even if I wanted to do it. Which I don't." Abigail shot her a pleading glance. Roselitta smiled slightly and shook her head.
She took one last glance at Abigail who was now wearing a sad expression on her face and then whispered, "I'll talk to you after class." Abigail put a huge smile on her face and nodded eagerly. There was 10 minutes left in homeroom to give her time to think about what she was going to say to Abigail.Roselitta had just decided what to say to Abigail when the bell rang. Saved by the bell, she thought as she walked over to Abigail, who was still wearing her huge smile. "So," said Abigail as they were walking down the hall. "What is your decision?" She had a look of curiosity painted on her face now in place of the smile.
"Ok fine, I'll do it," said Roselitta. "Yes!" exclaimed Abigail "But..."started Roselitta. "Aha! No buts! I believe in you Rosie. You can do this!" said Abigail. Ugh! Abby is relentless! "I'm glad you said yes because I already signed you up," said Abigail, starting to walk faster.
"Wait," she commanded Abigail, grabbing her arm. "Abby, what did you do?" she asked ever so sweetly. "Well..." started Abigail. "You-you see what happened was...I-I may have sorta signed you up at lunch."
"Oh. That'll save me a lot of time then. There's just one problem." said Roselitta. "I don't have a song to sing." Abigail looked at Roselitta as if she were saying 'you know you do' then she glanced at the pocket of Roselitta's backpack. Roselitta rolled her eyes and pulled out the notebook she wrote songs in.
She started to flip through her book while Abigail looked over Roselitta's shoulder. Abigail all of a sudden snatched the book. "This is it!" exclaimed Abigail. "This is the perfect song to sing at the show!" Roselitta took the book back and looked at the page. The title read 'If You Were The One'. Roselitta's eyes went wide. "No!" she exclaimed. "We can't use this song!"
