After about 4 hours of continuous petrol stops and drifting in and out of naps, my phone buzzed, tickling my hand. My heart jumped for a second, and I felt slightly dizzy from the minor shock. I gazed at the screen, still feeling dazed. It read 'Mum thinks I have taken advantage of you. I told her about your... you know, and she yelled even more. I couldn't stand her saying such awful things about you, so I left.' Anxiety fogged in my mind. I quickly typed 'What the hell? I can't even see you, I'm nearly in Brighton! Apologize or do whatever just go home! I don't care what she thinks of me, but she's your mum and you can't lose her.' I could feel my face turning scarlet and Dad looked at me sympathetically 'Are you okay?' He asked
'Sure' I rubbed my face ' Adam's just had a bit of a row with his Mum and I'm trying to help him sort it out.' I said quietly ' You're such a little Saint!' He said while harshly rubbing my head. I felt my stomach lurch as I thought about the mess I had made. I looked at my phone again 'Dessy, I know you're still hurting about you're Mum, but from the way you described her she seemed the total opposite of mine, don't you think? And I'm sick of her making snide comments about you, anyway I'm staying at my auntie's for a bit to chill out and I'll text you soon, have fun in Brighton xxx' I smiled weakly at the dull screen. Dad gave a rather obvious cough as e entered big black, glossy gates onto a sandy coloured gravel that trailed up to a hotel. 'Dad, don't get me wrong, it's beautiful but how on Earth can we afford this?' No matter how lovely the gesture was, I was worried about how we were going to afford all of this. Especially since Dad got sacked from his last job for slagging off the boss to his face! 'Don't you worry, you know that adver on the tele? Well it says you can borrow loads of money and you don't have to worry about it for like 2 years.' He beamed while driving into the small, quaint car park.
