The American Dream: The Mega Serum

Prologue

Hello my lovelies! As I'm sure you can tell, this is not the comfort of your arms. That story will obviously still continue, but this is a new one, duh. I will be releasing them both, but it will be a pattern. It will be The Comfort of your Arms then The American Dream: The Mega Serum, then the Comfort of your Arms and so on. Updates also may not come out everyday because some of the chapters will be hard to get out every day, but it shouldn't take very long to get a chapter out.

     Shayla Silver Rivers was born June 13th, 1919, to Ashley and Jason Rivers in Brooklyn, New York. Before she was born her father was confirmed to be killed in action in World War I. At age 14 she became friends with James "Bucky" Barnes and Steven Grant Rogers when she started High School at George Washington High School.

     In 1938, her mother died of ruptured appendix. After her mothers death, Bucky and Steve had offered for her to stay with them and do errands to earn her keep, like Bucky had offered Steve after his mother died. She told them what Steve Rogers had told him, she could get by on her own. They told her she didn't have to and she went to stay with them.

     She went on to get a degree in Electrical and Computer engineering, Mechanical engineering, Aerospace engineering, Nuclear physics, Molecular biology, and Biophysics.

     Rivers, learned in an engineering class that the United States of America entered World War II. She wanted to fight, and went to a US Recruiting and Induction Center along with Rogers. The two of them were rejected. She began to push herself, working out everyday. She went to the US Recruiting and Induction Center again, and this time was accepted. She left early and quickly became friends with Peggy Carter.

     Barnes came soon after her, followed by Rogers a while after. He was chosen to do the Super Soldier experiment and she stood by watching while it was done. It was successful, but an assassin appeared, killing Dr. Erskine, the creator of the serum.

     In 1943, she was taken hostage along with Barnes. They were found by Rogers. The entire facility began to explode so they tried to find another way out. They were confronted by Johann Schmidt, and Rogers fought him briefly. Schimdt escaped and they managed to get themselves to safety.

     They returned to the base and her and Peggy Carter caught Rogers kissing Private Lorraine. Carter berated him about being like every other soldier, at which Rivers left. She was later recruited for the Howling Commandos, a team lead by Steve Rogers, or Captain America.

     On a mission to a Hydra base in 1944, the Howling Commandos, minus Rogers, Bucky, and Rivers, stowed away on a small merchant boat, which as predicted, was attached by a Hydra submarine and a Leviathan. The three swam to the sub and proceeded to enter and attack the crew, winning it for the Commandos, who anxiously waited in a raft.

     The Howling Commandos progressively managed to destroy most major Hydra operations, slowing Hydra's efforts in building and Army for global conquest. In one particular mission against Hydra, after receiving information on the location of one of Hydra's top scientist Arnim Zola, Shayla Rivers, Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, and Gabe Jones led a stealth attack and boarded Zola's armored train. While Jones stayed on top, Rivers, Rogers, and Barnes went inside and were quickly ambushed.

     In the battle with Hydra soldiers, Bucky Barnes was thrown from the train. Despite their best efforts to save their friend, Rogers and Rivers, watched as Bucky fell down into the rocky mountain to his death.

     Rivers and Rogers were left devastated over the loss of their friend. Rivers herself was a mess, only having Carter to comfort her as Rogers continued missions to his best effort. When Rogers got attacked by a soldier with a flame thrower, he hid to protect himself. Shayla Rivers ran up behind the soldier and shot him dead. She then proceeded to get into a car with Peggy Carter and Chester Phillips and they came to Steve Rogers' aid, helping him to catch up to the plane. Rogers and Carter shared a kiss while Rivers watched, grinning.

     After Rogers went through a long battle Carter and Rivers got on the intercom to talk with him. He told them the plane was heading towards New York and the only way to save them was to crash land the ship into the Arctic.

Hello again! I hope you all enjoyed the first chapter, I know it was short, but it was just the backstory of the main character, this is also gonna be the second chapter I release today because the Comfort of your Arms came out this morning. It won't stay like that, but I figured since this is short I might as well.
