Abdelrahman Elgendy is an excellent student, he even won the title of "ideal student" more than once. He graduated from high school with a score of 99.6%. Also, Abdelrahman is a basketball player, he played for his governorate's team
In his first year of college, he got accepted in the engineering college of the German university in Cairo after passing the tests with flying colours. However he was arrested on the day before his first day of school from his father's car on the way to his grandparent.
Even though his feet never touched the campus,he became known among the other students after the arrest. Protests were held against the injustice he suffered.
Abdelrahman has been expelled from the German university after the ruling and is now registered at the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University.
