Chapter 1

Ever since my mother died, my father blamed it on me. He would abuse me everyday, leaving bruises and cuts on my body. But he always hit me in spots where they wouldnt be visible to others. Like my upper thighs or my back or stomach. After her death, we moved from ScalesWind to Phoenix Drop. I had to attend a new school called Phoenix Drop High.

I smack my alarm clock so that it would shut up. I checked the time and it's 6:15am. You may wonder, why do I set it to such an early time? So that I could get away from the house sneakily. If my father sees me in the morning, he would kick me straight in the gut. I quickly take a shower and get ready for school. I take a look at myself in the mirror. My face is emotionless. My life was a lot better when my mom was alive. Everything went downhill once she left us. I run out of my house and turn around. "Goodbye, dump" I say to myself and start walking. After I get home and father abuses me, I cut myself too. I do it to know that I'm still human. I check my phone. 6:55am. I still have some time since school starts at 7:25am so I go to the park nearby. There is this spot in the park that is full of trees, and I like going deep in that spot and isolating myself there. It's the best place for me to relax and forget about life. When I finally reach that spot, I grab my phone and start listening to 7 Years by Lukas Graham. As time gradually passes by, I get up and start walking my way towards school. The school is only like 4 or 5 blocks away from the park, so I don't have to worry timewise.

As I reach the school, I take out my schedule. Since the school year had already begun, I'll be behind on some things. As I walk throughtout the school, I finally reach my classroom.

Garroth's POV
As I was talking with my best friend, Laurance Zvahl, the stupid school bell rang. And as I walk to my class, I was mobbed by girls.Like usual. Pretty much everyone in the whole school recognizes me as the most handsome boy there. I play some sports like Football and Soccer. I go into my classroom and wait for the teacher.

After a few minutes, the teacher finally comes. "Hello students, today we have a new student. Please come in Aphmau."

Everyone was amazed by the transfer student. She had Raven black hair, Beautiful Hazel eyes, tan skin, and was pretty short. "My name is Aphmau Sylvia Phoenix. Its nice to meet you all." She said with a small smile. But something about that smile didn't seem right. "Okay Aphmau, take a seat next to Garroth Ro'meave. Garroth raise your hand." My eyes widen and I raise my hand. The beauty--Aphmau walked over to me and took her seat. She received a few glares from the girls in the class. She noticed by now, but just brushed it off. Once homeroom ended, the bell rang and we were dismissed. I noticed that Aphmau was caerying a bunch of books and were about to block her vision. So I ran over to her side and lifted off some books from her arms.

Aphmau's POV
Why does this school give so many textbooks?! Its hard to carry them all especially with my bruised and cut arms. But then someone lifts off around half of the books and I turn to my side. Due to how short I am, I look up and see it was that boy from Homeroom. "Garroth Ro'meave?" I say aloud by accident. "You guessed it" he chuckles. "Why are you helping me?" I ask him. In my old school, evryone usually jist ignored me. "Well, y-you look like you were s-struggling to carry the b-books" he said while...blushing?

Garroth's POV
Why do I have to stutter now..? As we reacher her locker, she opens it and we put the books in. "Thanks for helping me" she says. I can't help but blush. Why am I blushing? "Uh n-no problem" I say ..stuttering. The bell rings and I figured out that Aphmah and I had the same schedule. Maybe this won't be so bad.

Aphmau's POV
So me and Garroth have the same classes. But our next class is math, the subject I hate the most. Not to mention I completely suck @$$ at it.(I can relate with Aphmau) . After spending time in that hellhole, the bell rang ,and I walked out along with my classmates. Next was lunch and then one more class and today'll be over.. Until I go home. "Hey Aph" I hear someone say next to me. I turn my head around and look up and see Garroth. "Oh hi , Garroth." I say plainly. "So.. I was w-wondering since you're new and a-all, I thought you maybe would want to meet my f-friends?" He says. Well, its better than being lonely. "Sure" I say with a fake smile plastered on my face. " Great, lets go!" He responds with a smile and grabs my hand.

As we enter the cafeteria, I see a table full of girls that are wearing clothes that.. Reveal too much. Gross. Garroth lead me to a table that had around 7 people. When we arrived at it, they turn their heads to us. "Hey guys, I want you to meet the new girl, Aphmau." He says to all of them. "Hi!" They all said in unision. A girl with pink hair and cat ears and tail approached me. "Hi! Kawaii~Chan is happy to meet you Aphmau~Senpai!" Aphmau...senpai? I think to myself but just brush it off. Then 2 other girls approach me."Hi, my name is Nicole and she is Katelyn" the red haired girl says as she points to the girl with light blue hair. "Yo" was all she said. Then the 4 boys come up to me and the brunette says," Hey! My name's Laurance and this is Dante, Travis, and Jeffory" he says and he points at the boys in order. So the white haired one is Travis, the blue haired one is Dante, and the broen haired one with green eyes is Jeffory..right? We all get lunch and sit back down at the table. "So tell us about yourself beauty" Laurance says calmly. "Excuse me, beauty..?" I say in a confused manner. Today's gonna be a long day..
