Chapter Nine: A New War

The next morning, Glenn, Rick, Maggie, Michonne, a guy named Abraham, Sasha, Carl , and Daryl. "So, you trust this place?" Abraham sat up asking me, "yeah, I do, I've been with them through out the whole winter, if they didn't want me to trust them, I think they would've done something to me or my sister by now," I said, "I can't wait to see Alexis again," Glenn said looking at me smiling. I smiled back, "wait so how do you guys know her again?" Abraham asked, "she's my sister," Glenn said, "and she's my best friend," Carl said. I stood up and walked over to the drivers seat where Rick was and knelt down trying to help him out with the directions, "ow," I said laughing looking at Michonne after she had playfully hit me upside the head, "and what was that for?" I asked, "for getting your ass lost in a completely different state having all of us thinking your ass is dead," Michonne said smiling, "yo know what Michonne, I did what I needed to do," I said. I hugged Michonne as we pulled up to Hill Top, "you sure you want to go in with, you know," I said to Carl, "yeah, I'm sure," Carl said smiling at me. I smiled back as I walked out of the RV and went over to the gate, "who is it," one of the guys and the gate said, "it's me, Becca, and I brought my friends, Jesus knows we're coming," I said as Jesus came out, "you brought your friends and family I see," Jesus said, "yeah I did," I said, "well, come on inside, Becca, Tanya has Alexis in case you want to go get her," Jesus said as we walked in. I left them and went to go grab Alexis from Tanya thanking her for taking care of Alexis when I went back. Glenn ran over to me when he saw me with Alexis and took her from me holding her, he smiled and hugged her. We walked to the main area where Gregory was and I sat outside the house with Carl leaving Alexis with Glenn as Carl and I talked, "so, what is this place really like?" Carl asked, "it honestly a lot like the prison, everyone works together, helping out in some way. We have a blacksmith, crops, a doctor, everything, I just hope it will stay safe long enough," I said smiling up at Carl, "Becca, who's this?" My friend Mark asked. Mark was about mine and Carl's age and was a good friend I came to know during the winter while here at Hill Top, "this is my best friend Carl, Carl this is my friend Mark," I said, "hi," Mark said as if very mad, "hi," Carl said kind of confused, "oh shoot Carl I completely forgot to give it back to you," I said, "wait here a second please, or just wait with your dad, just wait some where around here," I said with a small laugh, "ok" Carl said back. After I said that I ran to my room and went into the drawers and grabbed Carl's best friend necklace and ran back, but on my way back I stopped hearing Mark say something to Carl, "listen, I just want to get this clear through your skull, Becca is MY best friend, and I don't give two shits, about what you have to say about it, so don't get any ideas!" Mark said, "listen, I don't know who you are? But I've known Becca since before this all started, and you're not one to say who Becca's friends are or not, she's her own person you DON'T control her and who her friends are, you better get THAT through your skull," Carl said as I came back from around the corner, "hey I'm back," I said looking at the two of them, "hey Becca," Mark said looking at me with a smile, "here, Carl I wanted to give this back to you, you dropped it back at the prison," I said handing him his half of the best friends necklace, "hold shit I thought I had lost it for good," Carl said with a surprised look on his face and looked up at me immediately hugging me. I hugged him back with a smile on my face, we stopped hugging, "Becca, Carl the two of you are needed inside," Glenn said coming out, "coming, see ya later Mark," I said looking over at him, "see ya," he said back as Carl and I went inside. Carl and I sat down as we waited for everyone to finish up what they were doing when I turned to Carl, "I heard, what you and Mark were saying," I said with a half smile, "really?" Carl said seeming a little upset, "yeah, and I just want to say thank you," I said smiling a little more, "why are you thanking me?" Carl asked, "because you didn't keep arguing with him, you stood up for me, and that's one of the things I really appreciate about you, is that you're willing to stand up and protect a friend," I said looking at Carl grabbing his hand, "thank you Becca, and you're welcome, you're my family, and you mean more then the world to me," Carl said smiling as we hugged when he then kissed my cheek. We stopped hugging when I looked at him and smiled. "Ok, so what did Gregory say," Jesus asked as Maggie came out of his office, "he said no deal, but I'm gonna find a way to convince him to say yes," Maggie said. We were all talking for a bit when we heard something going on outside and we all ran out there, "where is he?!" One of out members coming towards the house, "woah, Ethan what's going on?" Jesus asked, "I need to talk to Gregory," Ethan said, "Ethan, I don't think it's the best time for you t-" I started saying when Ethan pushed me to the ground slicing my arm with his knife, "shut up kid," he said as he kept walking when Gregory came out, "you ok?" Carl said running to me, "yeah, it's just a slice, I'll be fine than-" I said when I suddenly heard Gregory almost scream and when I looked over I had seen that Ethan had stabbed Gregory, "this is all because Negan wants more shit and you wouldn't give it to him!" He said when people brought him down. I ran over to Gregory and started putting pressure to the wound to help out Maggie. I looked over and saw that Rick had killed Ethan and had his gun up and Jesus telling them to calm down and not to worry and we immediately rushed Gregory to the Hill Top doctor. I had cleaned up and I was with Carl again sitting by my room as we were talking, "you should come back, to Alexandria with us, please," Carl said looking at me, "Carl I'd love to, but I don't think I can," I said, "why not?" Carl asked me, "because, Negan, if I'm not here he's gonna be pissed," I said looking at him, "what's so scary about him?" Carl asked, "he kills people, with a bat... wrapped in barb wire, when he doesn't get his way," I said, "yet you trust this dude?" Carl said looking at me like I was crazy, "not completely, I'm not sure if I can trust him or not," I said, "but I know I can't go back with you, I'd love to though, I want to be with all of you," I finished as I hugged Carl. "You should go," Jesus said sneaking up from behind, "Jesus, I can't, Negan," I said, "he comes once a month, and every week he comes on a Thursday, so just be here ever Thursday in case he comes," Jesus said, "ok, then yeah, I'll go," I said looking at Carl smiling as we hugged again. I packed up some things and put them in the R.V. as I saw everyone bringing lots of supplies, "wow, how much did Gregory say we get?" I asked Rick, "Maggie convinced him into giving us half of everything, and what do you mean by we, you're here," Rick said confused, "I'm coming home," I said with a big smile on my face. Rick and I hugged when he told me to go to the doctor's to see Maggie and Glenn, when I got there I saw Maggie getting an ultrasound for the baby. I walked over smiling with tears almost to my eyes as Glenn gabbed my hand and I looked at my niece or nephew, "you know them Becca?" The doctor asked, "yeah, I do, this is my brother and my sister-in-law," I said smiling. We had finished the ultrasound and I left back with them and Maggie and I had fallen asleep in the car while Jesus came back with us. We had gotten of the R.V. and we all unpacked the stuff when I looked back and saw the girl whom had the pigtails back from the prison, "so they let you stay?" I said scaring her, "you're alive?" She asked surprised seeing me, "yeah, I am, I wouldn't think they'd let you stay after that day," I said, "well, I helped Glenn find Maggie, so Rick saw good in me and let me stay," she said, "well my name is Becca, I'm Glenn's sister," I said with a smile, "Tara," she replied. I walked off when a girl walked up to me, "who are you?" She said trying to be intimidating, "I'm Becca, who are you?" I said, "Rosita, you're new around here, why are you here?" She asked, "Rosita, stop chewing up my sister's ass," Glenn said looking over at her, "she's your sister!?" She said sounding shocked, "yes, so if you could please back off away from her," Glenn said as she walked away. I saw Carol and I saw she was holding Alexis and I smiled when all of a sudden someone had jumped on my back making the two of us fall. I looked over and saw Carl laying on the ground across from me, "did you have to make me fall?" I asked with a glare, "yes, yes I did," he said laughing. He lent me a hand helping me up and we walked around for a little while talking about everything that had happened to us during the winter, "so, how did you get to Hill Top?" Carl asked, "me and Lucy were gonna go North and turn East, but then we ran into people, after they had passed I tried explaining to Lucy that we now had to go South and then go East and then go North, but then a girl named Paula ran into us, she took Lucy to a place for Negan's group and sent me and Alexis to Hill Top thinking we were weak. I mean obviously Alexis is weak, she's a baby, but I'm not weak, am I?" I said looking at Carl, "no, of cores you're not, until you're family is involved, if I'm being honest," he said, "what do you mean?" I asked, "you're strong, and a smart thinker, but, when you're family is involved, you think only about your family and what will keep them out of danger, and sometimes the stuff that will keep them in danger isn't the smartest," Carl said, "but that's what you have to do, you have to keep your family safe, you have to think about your family, why else do you think your dad doesn't make all the smart choices, I mean, they're smart, but some of them aren't, and that's because he's trying to keep you guys safe, because you guys are his family," I said, "so are you, and I wouldn't know what to do if we couldn't find you, we'd have one less member in our family," he said grabbing my hand. "Carl, you and your friend is needed by your father," a man said coming over to us, "ok, we're on our way," Carl said. The two of us got up and headed towards the church and Rick had me go on the stage with Jesus and another guy from Hill Top who had came to help detail the place. Rick explained that we need to kill people and Negan and we have to get out of there as soon as we can, someone tried to disagree, but Rick walked out with the plan still ready and the plan was to go that night with it still the afternoon, we all started planning the attack.
