“A penny for your thoughts?” Min asked as I snapped out of my thoughts. “Nothing, I was just thinking of the ring that we will buy for the one that you love.” I answered. “I’m really nervous right now and I’m really thankful to you helping me out.” She said as she flashed her eye smile at me. The smile that captured my heart. Yes, I fell in love with my best friend. She is a proud lesbian and I love her for who she is. I fell for her and she still doesn’t know about it. I love her very much that’s why I am being a martyr here helping her prepare for her much awaited confession to the girl she loves. “Anything for you, Min.” I said, flashing a fake smile even though I’m hurting inside. “Yabow, Ainee.” She said glancing at me. “Sing that song again, Min.” I blurted. I really love her cool and soothing voice. “Hhhmmm what song?” She asked. “The one that you composed for the lucky girl.” I really am jealous of that girl. She’s really lucky because Min really loves her. “I haven’t finished it yet.” She replied. “Just sing the part that you’ve finished.” I replied eager to hear her voice and imagine that I am the one she sings for. “Okay, ehem ehem so here it goes.
…I just wanna love you,
Give me that chance wanna hold you
Baby you know that I need you, I need you
And I’m wond’ring all the time…”
Eargasm. She smiled as she finishes the song. I can see the sincerity in her eyes as she sings it. I wish I could be that girl; the girl who makes her smile every time she thinks of her. "It’s really good Min. So when are you planning to court her?” I asked even if her answer will surely hurt me. “Maybe next week. I’m just settling all the preparations because I want it to be perfect.” The anticipation in her eyes is evident. I just hope that all will be well and the girl would accept her love. “Good luck. Make sure you’ll have her sweet yes.” Ouch, watching your love, love somebody else is probably the hardest feeling. I looked out the window as a tear threatens to fall from my face. “Hey, were already here.” She said. She cut off the engine and ran to the passenger door and opened it for me. “Thanks.” I said as she held out her hand for me. This is also the reason why I fell for her. She is a gentleman and always cares for me.
A little bell rang as we entered the store, I watched as Min's face lit up as she looked over at the expensive rings, she really was like a child in a toy store. I watched with an amused smile on my face as she looked at each ring. We walked down the entire length of the store before she stopped, to take a closer look at the cabinet.
"Oh Ainee look at this one." She looked up from the glass cabinet she had her face practically pressed to. I walked over to her side, to admire the ring she was so excited about. I returned her grin at seeing the gorgeous ring, it was a silver band with a small diamond and two, even smaller, emeralds beside it. It was, without a doubt, the perfect ring for the lucky girl.
"Do you want to see it?" The clerk asked. "We would love to." She answered gleefully. The clerk pulled out a set of keys and proceeded to unlock the cabinet, he carefully lifted the gorgeous, and expensive, ring from the soft velvet cushion it was sitting on. "What do you think Ainee?" I forgot the ring for a moment as I stared at her, taking in her handsomely beautiful features. “It’s beautiful, Min. It would suit her perfectly fine.” I answered half-heartedly.
She handed the ring to me, it was even more beautiful up close. The little bell rang out, signalling a new customer, so the clerk ran off to offer his services knowing that we were likely to buy the ring and needed no more persuasion. "Ainee." She whispered fiercely. I looked up at her. I didn't bother asking her what was wrong, instead I followed her line of sight, she was staring at the customer who had just entered, he was acting nervous, but that was no surprise considering he was most probably here to buy a piece of jewelry for his loved one. I shrugged my shoulders and shook my head at her, not understanding what she meant. She looked over at the guy and then shook her head. "Don't you think he's acting a little too nervous?" She asked, keeping her voice to a whisper. Again I looked over to the guy, but seeing nothing more than a nervous guy, I turned back to Min and gave her a soft smile, "Of course he's nervous Min he is probably looking at getting an engagement ring or a gift for a loved one." I answered her, not really understanding her paranoia. She frowned at me and my words, "I don't know Ainee, I have a bad feeling." I walked over to her and handed her the ring. "It's okay Min, I promise." She let out a small chuckle and shook her head, before looking down at the ring she held in her palm. I too was busy admiring the ring, yet again, that I didn't pay attention to the sound of the till opening, or the sound of the bell ringing once more.
