Berlin P.O.V

The expanse of forest was dark and murky, yet I still wandered out of the village, in search of my friends, who had seemingly scattered. "Adam? Rob? Where are you guys", I yelled out into the woods, hearing my voice echo out to the distance.

I heard a giggle, and I could only guess It was my friend, Rob. He was the only person I knew that let out such a girlie laugh, or giggle for that matter. It was a distance away, but I refused to go any faster. I let out a small chuckle as I walked deeper into the woods. I saw a flash of white go by my sights, instantly knowing it was Adam. He never did like other colors except for white. In my own personal thought, he needed a little spice and color in his life. He was a tall guy, with a slender body, and a slim waist, black hair, and dark brown eyes. Eyes and hair that perfectly contrasted with his clothing choices. To me, he was the living version of Yin and Yan.

Rob on the other hand was a bit short, and skinny. He wore what ever he could find in his closet. He was the guy who didn't really care what others thought about him. That's what I really liked about him, but that also caused him to get bullied sometimes. He had short brown curly hair, and green eyes that had a spark of blue when kissed by sunlight.

I heard a scream from the village, making my blood ran cold immediately. Knowing I was too far from the village to do anything, I took a shortcut. By the time I made it there the whole place was on fire. Not far away, I made out a shape in the darkness. A horse was on its side, wheezing helplessly, and looming shadows scuttled back and forth. I stepped away in horror, then hurriedly stumbles back to find my companions but it was a massacre. Friends scattered on the floor, blood covering the ground, painting it with the deepest red I could only imagine. Remaining relatives and friends trying to get out of the village. Only to be killed by men in black cloaks.

I run around trying to find my parents, gazing at every recognizable face I was able to look at. I spun around to the corner, only to see a man with long silver hair in a large black Trenchcoat. It's fairly long sleeved, velvety jacket covers him to well below his waist and is buttoned up completely at the center. The sleeves of his jacket were a loose fit and reached down to his hands, decorated with several thread linings from top to bottom. His skin was pale, and his body large and the cloak he wore had red stains all over it. He picked up a man with messy black hair by his throat. Tightening his grip gradually, as the man's legs flailed mid-air.

"Where is he?" The man's voice was cold, laced with hate and impatience. "Where is Berlin Paten?!" He shouted the question this time.

Why did he want me? What did I do?

A panicked sweat broke out on my forehead, realizing that it was my father that he had within his grasp. My heart froze, and I halted as the man with black hair spit on his face. "I will never tell you where my son is!" He wheezed out before the silvered haired man squeezed his neck tighter until he heard a satisfying crack. I covered my mouth and let out a muffled scream as tears streamed down my face.

'Dad!', I whispered as the man turned his head in my direction. I quickly hid behind the wall, hoping he'd look away. Unfortunately for me, the silver haired man started walking towards me. All I could do was run, and fast too. I ran past all my friends, past all my family. Seeing my mom along the way I whispered a quick 'I love you.' and continued running. I made it out the village and looked behind me. He was catching up and fast.

I weaved around the trees, and jumped over as many roots and logs as I could. Blind panic setting in, and my head filled with the sounds of my heavy breathing and running footfalls on the slightly damp forest floor. I zig-zagged in the woods, never running in a straight line. I tried my best to lose him, but my chest hurt, bad. And I was running out of breath too fast for my liking.

"Help!", I screamed out over and over again. Hiding behind a tree, I decided to use the little magic my parents were able to teach me before they died. I let out a shaky breath and mustered up all of the strength I could, my lips twitching as I mouthed a simple spell to turn myself invisible. And just in time, for the silver haired man appeared into the clearing. Fear froze me in place, but I still managed to peek around.

"Damn brat. Where'd he go!?", the man spat out loud.

Looking out from behind the tree, I saw two men approach the man. They exchanged looks and one spoke swiftly. "Sir, they scattered before we could pinpoint the right one", they paused so that they could give a quick solute, then continued, "but, we found two more in the woods". The two men were beleaguered and scarred, as if they were returning from the Crusades. Their clothes in disarray, and adorned with souvenirs from the Middle East.

"Is he among them?" he asked with eagerness clouding his blood curdling voice. The two men nodded a no, pushing the two people the found forward. The soldiers put a knife to both of their throats. I instantly recognized the two as Adam and Rob.

'No. Oh God, please no', I thought holding my hand over my mouth so I wouldn't scream it out loud.

The silver haired man let out a frustrated sigh as he started to ask questions about me. Or if they knew where I was. They both replied with with no's. Not letting the man hurt their friend, like he did their family.

He let out a sinister chuckle and I watched as his large shoulders shook, "I do not like liars". He looked at the two men and nodded. One of them tossed him a blade, which he caught expertly. Twirling it between his hands, as his right index finger played with the point of the dagger. "Now, I will only ask this once again."

"Where is he?!" His tone had transmuted from just scary, to terrifyingly blood curdling. I gulped as both boys exchanged glances, and Rob nodded a no.

"You might as well kill us. Because we aren't talking ugly." Adam let out in a shaky voice, and the man chuckled.

His deep chuckles became loud, conniving, and harsh. "Kill them," he grated out simply as his face became hard.
