Chapter 12: Recess Time
The bell rang indicating it was recess time.
"Okay, I have to go now, Jarrett. I'll see you later!" said Harper, waving goodbye.
I waved back as I saw her leave with her friends, Madison and Addison.
They're twins. Isn't that cool?
I pulled out my sandwich from my black Star Wars bag.
I bit into it.
Mmm... That tastes good...
Then, I suddenly spotted someone at the door.
Her hair was tied up into a ponytail and she was wearing a beige sweater with black leggings.
Ooooooh... That was Robin.
I waved to her.
"Hwey Wobin!" I muffled out.
In my defense, my mouth was full of PB & J sandwich bits.
She spotted me and ran over to my seat. "Oh, hey, Jar Head!" she exclaimed happily.
I groaned. "Do you have to call me Jar Head in public?"
She giggled as she flicked her bangs to the side. "Why?" she asked.
"It's embarrassing."
She winked. "Okay."
I eyed her up and down.
"You look like a prostitute." I complimented.
"What's a prostitute?" asked Robin.
"Beats me." I replied. "I just know that when mommy tried on a short dress at the mall, she groaned and said she looked like a prostitute. So I just assumed prostitute means pretty."
"Oh, then, thanks!" she said, smiling brightly at my compliment.
"So, where have you been?" I asked, taking another bite of my sandwich.
"Ugh! I hate it so much!" she groaned. "We have different classes!"
I frowned. "That's sad."
She immediately perked up. "It's okay though. We can still meet up at recess and lunch." she said with a smile.
I smiled back. "Yeah."
