Nalu: First, Last Love

Chapter: 7

Lucys's (POV) it had been 3 weeks since I put on a brave face in front of the couple. I have been dealing with the pain of loosing someone I love pretty well thanks to Natsu sticking by me and helping me out. I realize that I am having these feelings towards Natsu but I don't know if I will act on them or not. I really don't want to loose him as a friend. I also don't want him to think I'm using him to get over a gray or anything. I'm not completely over him but it's getting easier. When I talk to Juvia I can tell that she really likes him and she wants to be friends with me. It's hard befriending her because she's so sweet and has no idea I had feelings for Gray. Every time I look at him I see her. Although my heart is still in pieces in trying to pick those pieces up one by one. Today Natsu is taking me out for a New Years party. Of coarse Gray and Juvia is spending it together. I walk out my door after I got dressed going to where a Natsu told me to wait on him in front of the dock. However, when I walk out I see Gray. 

Lucy's (POV) "Lucy. I feel likes its been forever since we talked." He said with a sad expression. "Nah, not that long." I responded. He looked down. "If there is something wrong tell me. I don't want to keep acting like strangers in front of one another Lucy." He said smiling. I realize he never knew anything of my feelings. I also want to go back being by Grays side. This time it will have to be only as friends. I smiled. "I want that too Gray." I said wondering if I should say what I really want to. "And Gray, I think Juvia is a great girl. I'm happy that you fell in love with her so fast. I really want you to be happy." I said and turned away. "Thank you Lucy. And about Natsu...I think you should give him a shot." He said. "Maybe." I said and walked on towards the doc. I let out a single tear that run down my cheek but I wiped it off so Natsu wouldn't know. I'm really happy I could say that to him... 

Grays (POV) I smile as she walks away. Natsu already told me about their New Year thing. I wish them the best of Luck. I look at Lucy once more as she walks towards the dock. It was my fault we fell apart. I am mad at myself for that. She's a good girl. Although I can't help it but think that she was upset for a while about something weeks ago when she walked back in with Natsu...Juvia grabbed me from behind and hugged me. "Ready?" I asked planning to celebrate New Years with her at my place. "Yes!" She screamed in excitement. 

Natsu's (POV) She was so beautiful . I had a spread of sandwiches and a little wine laid out on a ship an old man let me rent for the evening. Her eyes lit up when she saw it. "This is so sweet Natsu." She said hugging me. I hugged her back. We laughed and enjoyed the final minutes left of the year. "Lucy." At 12 I want to ask you something." I said blushing. I bet she could already guess what it was because she blushed to. "Ok." She said. We sat in silence until 12. The bell rang in Magnolia. "Lucy will you be my girlfriend?" I asked grabbing her hand. She blushed and squeezed my hand. "Please take care of me." She said looking away to flustered. What a wonderful year.
