Chapter 16: Sleep
Robin unrolled a sleeping bag next to her bed.
"There!" she exclaimed proudly.
"I'm sleeping there?" I asked, pointing to the sleeping bag.
"Yeah." she answered. "What's wrong with it?"
"Oh, nothing... I just thought since I'm your guest, I would get the bed."
"What? No way! It's my bed!" she pouted while laughing and crossing her arms.
"True... but I'm the guest." I argued.
"But it's my bed."
"But I'm the guest."
"But it's my bed."
"But I'm the guest!"
"You get the sleeping bag, suck it up, Jar Head."
I just rolled my eyes and laid down on the red sleeping bag.
"Can I at least have a pillow?" I asked, trying to make myself comfy.
"Sure." Then she grabbed a pink Barbie pillow. "I've never liked Barbie. I don't know who in their right mind would."
"I agree. But I'm a guy. I can't sleep with a pink and Barbie pillow!"
"Are you sure you're a guy? Because you seem pretty puny for a guy."
"Hey!" I growled. "It's not like you're strong!"
"Yes, but I'm a girl. I can be puny." she retorted. "Look, bottom line is, it's the pillow or nothing at all."
"Fine." I growled, giving up and grabbing the pillow."
Robin turned the lights off.
"Hey, Robin?"
"Yeah, Jar?"
"Someday, I'll be strong. I'll be strong for you. You'll see."
She turned to her side and simply said, "Okay."
