Jariel wasn’t about to lose this fight. Not after everything that had happened. He was going to make Elise pay for what she had done. He already had the upper hand; Elise really wasn’t that great of a fighter. She always had to surprise attack someone to knock them out.
He had Elise pinned to the ground now, and he yelled at Annette for her to bring over the rope so that he could tie her up. Elise kept struggling, but Jariel didn’t give up. Annette ran over as quickly as she could, handing Jariel the rope. Without a single moment of hesitation, Jariel heaved Elise over his shoulder and tied her up to the very pole that she had tied Dawn and him to.
“You traitor!” Elise spat, trying to break free but becoming unsuccessful.
“Oh, I’m the traitor?” Jariel laughed. “I’m not the one that betrayed dozens of angels by tricking them out of Heaven. I’m not the one that dragged an innocent human in to this fight! If anyone is the traitor, it’s you Elise.”
“Oh please. You’ve fallen under these humans spells, haven’t you” Elise yelled, sounding more insane by the minute. “These humans are nothing but scum, like you said before! They don’t belong in this universe!”
“No, humans aren’t scum. That’s one thing that Dawn has taught me.” Jariel said, glancing over at Dawn. “That there are people in this world that will lend a hand to a person who needs it.”
“You think by believing that, they’ll let you return to Heaven? Hate to burst your bubble, but you aren’t going back!” Elise yelled, as if that concerned him though.
“You know what, Elise?” He said, squatting in front of her. “I don’t really care anymore. I kind of like it here. It’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I should probably thank you, because if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have this change of heart. I would have never had met Dawn and I would have never had the opportunity to expose you for what you really are.”
By now, Elise looked furious. After all, her plan was to make Jariel’s life a living hell, and she had failed at that. Now she just looked like a fool. Her hair was all messed up, as well as her make up. Her clothes were dirty and torn. She really wasn’t that much of a threat anymore.
Jariel didn’t really know what was going to happen now. He was afraid that if they just left her here, that she would manage to escape, but at the same time he needed to get Dawn to a hospital. Elise had stopped yelling at him, and was just sitting against the pole looking pathetic. He leaned against the wall, exhausted. He had finally gotten the revenge that he wanted to, though not in the way that expected to though. Truthfully, he thought that he was going to kill her. However, now that he thought about it, it would be worse to let her live with the shame that she would now carry. Exposing her for what she was would mean that the other angels would look down on her, and that was a bigger punishment than death, to Elise at least.
All of a sudden the room was filled with a bright light, which caused everyone to shield their eyes. Two angels came in to the room, looking like they were on a mission. Jariel immediately recognized them to be Gabriel and Leo, his old friends. Gabriel’s short, blond, hair glowed in the light, and his smile reached his blue eyes. Leo’s long, brown, hair blew in the wind and his hazel eyes looked around the room. Both had their large, white, wings out as they approached Jariel.
“Jariel, our old friend. I’m surprise to see that you’re still alive.” Gabriel greeted, smiling.
“I must admit, I am a bit surprised as well.” He laughed. “Why are you here?”
