Hi everyone!
This is my first story and I hope you like it. I will try to write a part about every week but sorry in advance if it doesn't happen.

Grace Simeron was moving. From her beautiful beach house in California to the wet and wooden state of Maine. While still saddened of her mother and father's death, Grace's grandparents suggested that she should move in with them.

Having to leave, Grace started to have nightmares.

(Grace POV)
~Dream~
I saw my parents. They were getting ready to leave for something I don't remember. "Lock the doors behind us, okay? We don't want anything to happen to you while we are gone." My mother said on their way out. "I will, I will. And if something happens I'll call you. Don't worry, have fun!"

Flash!!!

Then someone comes to the door. I open it and the person on the other side tells me my parents are dead. I fall and black out.

When I wake up, I'm at my grandmother's and grandfather's house. I run out to their backyard to the woods. And then I hear a howl... A bloodcurdling howl right behind me! I slowly turn around and nothing was there. I turn back around to keep going but there is something on the path...

~End of Dream~

I woke up sweating, sitting up to see what was around me, but there was my room at my grandparents. That dream was to real. But I couldn't figure out why other than the memory of my parents leaving and the guy who came and told me the news. Sweat rolled down my forehead, and I wiped it off before getting up to go get a drink of water.

As I walk out of my room and down the stairs to the kitchen, I notice that the clock said 1:23am. I had only been asleep for two hours!!! But the lights of the kitchen were on. Slowly and not trying to make a sound, I tiptoed into the doorway. I saw my grandfather standing at the counter. I let my breath out, not knowing I was holding it, and walked in.

"Hey sweetheart. What are you doing up?" He asked with a smile on his face.

"Bad dream, what's your excuse?" I said before yawning.

"Couldn't sleep, like usual. Do you need some water?" He said while grabbing a glass. I nodded and he filled up the glass with water from the tap then handed it to me.

"Thanks." It was all I said before downing the liquid in a matter of seconds. When I was finished, I put the empty glass in the sink before sitting down at the dinner table.

"Are you alright after what happened? Grandpa quietly pushed the question into the silence between us.

"Somewhat, it happened so fast that it is only resurfacing in my dreams. But I really miss them." After putting that out there, I felt tears falling down my face. Grandpa must have noticed because he was soon by my side giving me the hug I needed.

"We all do...", was all he said as I wrapped my arms tightly around him.

I know it was short but it was a good point to stop at. And more twists will come, give it some time...😁
