Every time I close my eyes,

Images overwhelm my brain,

Dancing through my mind,

Playing there wicked game.

Sleep evades for a while,

Then darkness crashes.

The sheets are tangled,

The dreamer thrashes.

The sun has set,

The stars are out.

Though I sleep,

My mind is full of doubt.

Dizzy images race,

Constantly waging war.

The terror never sleeps.

It's worse than before.

The names, the torment, the abuse,

I don't think I can ever escape.

A new kind of terror,

Always taking shape.

This quite life,

A haunting past that never leaves,

Will follow me, and turn strangers into enemies.

Now the sun rises,

The terror doesn't subside.

The empty feeling lingers,

I have no place to hide.

A restless cycle,

With no end in sight.

Just terror and insomnia,

Every night.
