Off With Their Heads

Chapter 20

The reactions of everyone were what was expected; Heartfelt hugs and small talks. After the first couple of hugs though, her stomach and shoulder started getting aggravated and were hurting slightly. Bruce and Hatter take note of this and immediately go into protective/doctor mode. Hatter hovered over her asking her if she was alright and if she needed everything, while Bruce ushered everyone out of the door. The Tweedles, taking note of Matthews protective behavior and attitude directed at the Queen, sigh and hand Malakai two twenty dollar bills. He grabs them and runs off to stash them in his secret place that only Cheshire knows about.

Bruce, who had finished ushering everyone out of the room except Hatter and Cheshire (who seemed very content sleeping upside down on the Queen's lap), started doing the routine check-up on Evangeline. After he had re-bandaged her stomach and her shoulder stump, he sat back and asked, "So when you woke up, did you do any abrupt moving? Like sitting up really quickly or twisting a certain way?" 

Both the Hatter and Evangeline blush a deep red, which Bruce noticed. He took off his glasses and pinches his nose, sighing.

"I'm not even going to ask what you two were doing but please tell me that Malakai was not in the room while you were doing it." 

They both blush even deeper but then Hatter laughs, "Oh that is great. You think were were 'doing' it. Oh god! No! Nothing like that!"

Evangeline nodded her head as well, "Yeah, he only kissed me!"

"Wait! I kissed you?! I distinctly remember you kissing me!" Hatter said.

"Well... you kissed back!"

They both started arguing, quite loudly, which woke up Cheshire (who grumbled and disappeared). Bruce rubbed his nose again and left the room, satisfied with the condition that Evangeline was in. He went into the dining hall where everyone else was and was immediately bombarded with questions. He held up a hand and pointed to Natasha.

"How is she?" She asked, legitimately concerned for her friend.

"She is good, and by the look on both of their faces when I mentioned them being together was priceless. Evidently they kissed and  now they are arguing about it." 

The Tweedles grumble and hand Malakai five bucks each, they had bet that they would argue about who kissed who (Tweedles against that they would while Malakai said they would). Malakai took it and stuffed it in his pocket.

"Pleasure doing business with you."

A/N - FREEDOM!!!! OH SWEET FREEDOM!!!! I am done with school! Woohoo! Anyways, sorry I haven't updated lately, finals and studying for finals was horrible, even though I'm a freshman. We had finals all the way up to the last day of school (which was today) and it was horrible. So, here this update is and hope you enjoyed.
