one - moving in

*・゜゚・*:....:*'*:.. ..:*・゜゚・*

Xu Xinnan took a pen out from her purse and signed the contract that would give her the keys to her apartment for the next who knows how many months. Her freshly bleached blonde hair swayed on her back as she got up and politely smiled at her landlord. The girl's eyes never quite met the other's eyes.

"Thank you," she quietly said. Xinnan was always shy around people. She could hold a conversation with a one person for a little bit, but a group of people, she would rather die.

Xinnan had the rare talent of being perfectly fine one moment, and turn into a blushing, stuttering mess as soon as someone uttered a single word. She wasn't clinically diagnosed, but parents and friends (aka the people patient enough to get the girl to be comfortable around them) all say she has SAD.

"No problem, here are your keys," The landlord said as he held the keys out in front of him, "I hope you get along with your roommate."

Oh crap. Xinnan completely forgot about having a roommate.

"M-me too," the blonde-haired girl said as she quickly moved past the man standing in front of her.

"Good luck!" she heard a voice call out after her. Xinnan turned around to find her landlord standing there, waving at her with a smile. The girl timidly smiled back before rushing out the door.

*•.+*

The door to apartment 420 swung open as Xinnan hauled her belongings in. Everything that was once in her arms, landed on the floor with a soft thud.

Was anyone home? She thought

No one came out to greet her.

They might be busy. I wouldn't particularly like walking in on my new roommate though. That'd be horrifying.

Her mind battled between calling out for anyone or just hoping no one was home.

Better safe than sorry, I guess.

Xinnan mustered up all the courage she had, which wasn't a lot, and called out for anyone.

"H-hello?"

No one answered.

Xinnan smiled to herself. She had the place all to herself for now. Which meant no awkward encounters, which meant the blonde girl could relax for a while and just be herself.

As time passed by, all of her belongings were brought into the empty bedroom she found. By the time she finished unpacking and organizing, it was near her usual dinner time.

I'll  check out the rest of the apartment, she thought to herself as she opened a door to another room.

Inside was a neatly made bed with a keyboard and headphones on a desk. A laptop was resting in the center of the bed. The walls were plastered with posters of famous groups and singers, some of which Xinnan recognized. The blonde girl was just about to leave the room when her phone buzzed in her hand.

amberlicious: is your roommate nice?

amberlicious: send me your location if she isn't !!!

Xinnan smiled at the ridiculousness one of her only friends. Amber was one of the few people who was willing to take the time to become friends with Xinnan.

Xinnan smiled down at her phone as her hand reached out to grasp the door knob. The short girl started out the door. Her phone clattered on the floor as she ran into something. She looked up to see that the something was more of a someone.
