"GOD DAMMIT LINA" is the first thing I hear when I finally answer my phone. Of course I knew this was coming, the caller ID read 'Asshole Atiin'. My *beloved* eldest cousin.

"Watch your mouth Atiin, I'll tell auntie." I reply quite sarcastically, knowing he's far from afraid by my empty threat. I hear him sigh into the phone before replying. "Lina, are you absolutely positive this is what you want? I can find you a plane ticket home.." He trails off, knowing how set I am on living in the UK.

"Bubba, you know my answer. I love you to the moon and back, but this is an amazing opportunity for me! They're paying me for being an intern there! Have you seen the average paycheck they give out? I can pay off my student loans in no time, and get a nice house!" I exclaim into the phone, gasping for breathe once i finish.

I hear him sigh once more into the phone, about to reply, when I get a harsh tap on the shoulder by a flight attendant who points to the little sign that reads 'NO PHONE CALLS WHILE IN THE AIR' and I blush in embarrassment. I quickly tell Atiin my goodbyes, and confirm that I will call him when my flight has landed.

I turn my iPhone onto airplane mode, and shove my headphones in, hoping to coax my anxiety into sleep. I press shuffle, and one of my favorite songs by FPS comes on, and I suddenly feel as if i'm in a music video. The words are depressing, but have a soothing undertone to them. I yawn, and smile knowing my music is working. I turn towards the window of the plane and drift off.

******************************
"Miss, please wake up, the plane has landed." I pop up, waking up quickly. I apologize to the attendant and get my belongings out of the overhead compartment. I groggily stumble off the plane, and into the airport lobby. Hurrying out of the airport, i'm slightly saddened by the fact that I have no one waiting for me.

I hail a taxi, and sit comfy in the backseat. The cabby asks where i'm headed and I reply with the nearest hotel. As i'm dropped off, the man tells me to stay safe, and I nod, hoping to be as polite as possible.

I pay for a night at the hotel, and while the fee is a bit greater than I would've hoped for, I'm relived knowing i'm secure for the night. I change into some pajamas and pull out my laptop, desperately searching for an apartment near the company. After two hours of searching for a flat, i finally find one that suits my budget, and my style. I book an appointment to go by the flat and make an offer tomorrow. I nod off once again, and let myself rest easy.

So...Hi! I'm Lyss, and this is my first Fanfiction that I plan on actually finishing. Anyone can message me about anything! I hope to find some people to be chill with.
