Adam walked across the plains, a wooden sword in hand, and a backpack on his back. He had been on his own for only two days, and had gotten nowhere. He was only nine, yet he felt like he was an adult. All of a sudden, he spotted something in the distance. Excitement washed over him as he started running toward it, hoping it was what he was looking for. When he reached it, he was not disappointed to find that it was, in fact, a cave. He smiled, pulling out his wooden pick and hurrying into the cave. Only to realize that he had no torches for light.

But that was no problem, since he almost immediately found some coal. Mining it, he started getting materials for an upgrade. Two hours later, he was deep in the cave exploring, when he saw it. The most majestic thing in the world-in his opinion. Budder. Or, what weird people called, gold. The only problem was that it was over lava. Adam searched for an easy way to get to it, but nothing is ever easy. So he had to make his own bridge. He was doing fine, eager to get the budder, when he saw that he didn't have an iron pick. He turned around, about to head back to his crafting table and furnace, when he stopped short. A creeper was blocking his way there.

Adam searched frantically for another way out, but it was either the creeper or lava. And he didn't know if he would be able to survive the creeper, let alone lava. He back up to the end of his bridge as the creeper came toward him, hissing. He had nowhere to go. He raised his stone sword, hoping that he could push the creeper into the lava. But he was shaking so badly, he could barely hold it. The creeper was getting closer. He closed his eyes, waiting for the end. There was whistling of an arrow and a hiss, then a splash. Opening his eyes again, he saw that the creeper was gone, and in its place was a boy that seemed to be only a year younger then him, with shaggy brown hair and brown eyes. A quiver full of arrows was strapped to his back and a sword was in a sheath around his waist. He was holding a bow in his hand.

"W-who are you?" Adam asked. The boy turned to look over his shoulder and shouted back at someone, "Hey, I found someone!" Another boy in a blue spacesuit came rushing over to the bridge. Adam looked at the two of them.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and get over here!" the new boy said, beckoning for Adam to hurry. Adam walked slowly and caustiously toward them. A thought crossed his mind.

"You wouldn't happen to have an iron pick, would you?" he asked. The boy with the bow grabbed the one that was convienently strapped to his back and handed to him. "Thanks." He went back over to the budder and started mining it, putting it inhis backpack. He went back over to the other two boys, smiling, and handed the pick back to the boy. "By the way, my name is Adam."

"I'm Jason and that's Ty," the boy in the spacesuit introduced. Adam nodded.

"May I ask why you needed that gold?" Ty wondered. Adam shook his head, frowning.

"Not gold. Budder." Jason and Ty looked at each other.

"Budder?" Adam nodded.

"What can I say? Budder's my beautiful weakness," he laughed.

"Well, we should get out of here. I can here a horde of zombies coming," Jason said and they all ran through the cave, not stopping until they were back outside.

"No! Crap!" Jason cried. It was nighttime. The zombies had followed them to the opening, so they had no choice but to run out into the open plains full of monsters. Adam dodged a skeleton's arrow, slicing its head off with his stone sword as he went by. Jason kicked a creeper out of his way and Ty shot a spider in the head. They were doing fine, almost toward a small shack, when Adam made the mistake of accidently looking an enderman straight in the face. The enderman teleported in front of him, seperating him from Ty and Jason, who stopped at the sound of the enderman and turned back. Adam swung his sword, injuring the monster before it teleported away. Jason and Ty ran over to Adam.

"Be careful. It could be anywhere," Jason told them. Just as he said that, it appeared behind Adam and knocked him to the side. He flew through the air, landing hard on the ground and rolling for a little bit until he finally came to a stop by a tree. His vision was blurry and his whole body ached. He could just make out Ty and Jason running toward him before he passed out.
