Chapter 4: "What's the worst that can happen?"

*Chapter 4*

"Can you stop staring at me." I snapped blushing.
"Why would I wanna do that?" Calum said expressionless.
"Because it's creepy and weird." I said matter-of-fact.
"Well you are my date, so I can stare if I want to."
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Just don't do it so obviously."
I turned my head slightly so I could see Hailey and Kieran in the booth behind Calum. Kieran had an annoyed expression on his face and Hailey gave me a small smile.
We're half way over with this date, Kamryn.
"Why'd you guys break up?"
I looked at Calum, confused as to why he cares about Sam and I's past relationship.
"Why do you care?" I said quietly.
"Because," he shrugged. "I've seen the way he looks at you. Like he's seeing the most beautifulest creature walk into the room."
My cheeks go slightly pink as I stare into his eyes.
"Then why did he cheat on me with Natalie?" I whispered.
"I don't know," he said honestly. "But don't think it's because she's hotter than you. She's not."
My cheeks went from slight pink to ripe tomatoes.
I looked at the entrance to avoid his eyes. Next thing I know, I see Zander and Grayson walk in.
My eyes widened as their gazes swept the room. I scoot over to the inside of the booth.
The farther the better.
"What's wrong Kamryn?" Calum asks.
"Zander and Grayson just walked in!" I say frantically.
"How does Zander know?" He asks slightly frightened.
"You didn't tell him?"
"No way! Your brother is scary as fuck!"
I mentally scoffed.
Even Calum is afraid of my brother.
But then I remember something. Or someones.
"Guys!" I whisper-yell. "Get over here. Code 13!"
Kieran and Hailey quickly jumped to our booth. Hailey sat next to me and Kieran sat next to Calum.
"Zander's here?" Asked Kieran.
I nodded.
"Who told him if none of us did?" Asked Calum.
We all thought for a moment when something hit me. Not literally.
Grayson.
But would he have told?
He didn't even know though.
"Oh no," said Hailey. "They're walking over here."
I gulped. Here goes nothing.
"What's going on here?" Asked Zander as he reached our booth.
"I'm just hanging out with my new buds." Lied Calum, putting his elbow on Kieran's shoulder.
"Nice to know you guys are getting along." Zander smiled.
I felt really bad now. This is starting to become an everyday thing, lying to Zander.
Grayson was standing beside my brother, avoiding everyone's eyes.
"Well," Zander started. "There's a party at that douche's house at 9. Wanna go?"
A party at Sam's house? I don't know. But Zander is going to be there so...
"Sure." We all said.
"Wait," said Zander. "Let me redo that question. Who would like to go to the party besides Kamryn?"
"What?" I said. "No fair! You're going to be there!" I point out.
"Little sis, I plan on getting wasted." He explained. "I can't watch you if I'm wasted now, can I?"
I crossed my arms over my chest and frowned.
"I could watch her." Hailey, Kieran, Calum, and surprisingly Grayson said at the same time.
They all gave each other weird looks.
"I don't know..." Zander said, ignoring what just happened.
"I am your chauffeur so I'm not getting wasted." Grayson said.
I glanced at Calum and saw his jaw clenched.
I looked at Grayson and saw him already looking at me.
I bite my lip nervously, not really sure of what to say.
"Would you mind if Grayson watched you?" Zander asked.
I looked at Kieran and Calum and saw their narrowed eyes at Grayson. When I looked at Hailey, she was wiggling her eyebrows and grinning.
"No," I finally said. "I wouldn't mind at all."

All of us were in Grayson's black Ford truck. Grayson was driving, Calum was in the middle seat, and Zander was in the passenger seat. The rest of us were in the backseats.
"I don't know about this." Whispered Kieran.
"What's the worst that can happen?" I asked.
He scoffed. "A lot of things."
"Like what?" Piped in Hailey.
Before he could answer, Grayson opened my door.
"We're here." He smiled.
I smiled back as I got out of the car.
Sam's house was quite large. Music was blaring, cars were parked all the way down the street, people were vomiting outside.
A high school party.
"Stay close to Gray, Kam." Said Zander as we walked in.
Zander and Calum went straight to the kitchen.
To get wasted, I guess.
"You wanna dance?" Grayson asked, close to my ear.
"S-Sure." I stuttered at his closeness.
He gently grabbed my hand and led me to the dance floor.
I looked around and saw Hailey dancing with a cute guy.
I smiled. Have to ask her about that later.
I looked for Kieran and saw him glaring at Grayson.
Ugh, he's just like Zander.
I stared swaying my hips to the beat. Grayson put his hands on my waist and swayed his body as well.
I noticed Natalie glaring at us as well.
I smiled to myself as I remember that they have never danced together.
2 points for Kamryn still 0 for Natalie.
We danced for a little while longer until we were thirsty.
We headed to the kitchen and searched for non alcoholic beverages.
"Thanks." I said when he gave me a coke.
He sat on the counter and stared at me.
I took this time to also stare at him. Grayson was hot. His perfect jaw, high cheek bones, his dark hair and eyes.
I then realized we were staring at each other shamelessly, so I blushed and looked down.
"You're really pretty." He said.
I blushed a darker shade of pink. "Are you sure your drink isn't spiked?" I asked, chuckling.
He laughed as he shakes his head no.
"I'm serious. You're one of the prettiest girls I've ever seen."
I bit my lip nervously. Grayson just called me pretty!
"You wanna go upstairs?" He asked. "It's much quieter."
I nod my head and he grabs my hand.
He leads me to the stairwell. We walk up the stairs and check the first room.
When I open the door I see a girl with no shirt on and my brother (shirtless as well) making out.
I quickly shut the door and mutter an ew.
That was something you can't un see.
Grayson chuckles and leads me to the opposite room and when he opens the door, no ones inside.
The room was poorly lit by fake candles. It was probably a guest room.
We sit on the edge of the bed.
"So..." I said breaking the silence.
"How are you?" He asked.
"I'm fine, I guess." I reply.
He looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
I sigh. "I just wish I could tell Zander everything."
"Why don't you?"
"Have you seen the guy? Any boy that looks or talks or even accidentally touches me is punched in the face!" I said exasperated.
"The only boys he can actually leave me alone with is you, Kieran, and Calum."
"Isn't him not being here is what got you involved in this mess?"
"I guess." I shrugged.
"Maybe having a protective brother can be good."
"I don't know. If Zander was here I wouldn't have found another douche bag who liked Natalie to stay away from."
He scoffed. "Natalie's a slut."
"Yeah, she is."
"I would never go for a girl like that. I would like someone like," he paused. "Like you."
When he said you, I turned towards him. He was already looking at me though.
My eyes slightly widened as he looked at my lips.
"I've always liked you from the start of the year." He whispered.
Grayson has a crush on me?!
My breath hitched in the back of my throat as he leaned in.
Is he going to kiss me? Oh God!
My eyes widened more as our lips were only inches apart.
"What do we have here?" Said someone at the now open doorway.
We jumped apart quickly.
I stared at the person with wide eyes.
"Shit." Grayson cursed.
Shit indeed Grayson, shit indeed.

I'm so sorry for the long wait. I just had a massive brain fart. I think this chapter was crappy but oh well.
