Can You See Me? (Luke Hemmings/5sos Fan Fic)

“HIGH FIVE!” Luke exclaims as he joins my side, I stare at him with narrowed eyes and shake my head.

“I swear sometimes you are an embarrassment to be around.” Luke fake pouts and I laugh at his face. The two of us walk into school and push our way through the crowd of people blocking the hallways. Ugh, school. Why did summer have to end so soon? Yes I know its two months of holidays but I had a very packed holiday. Well slightly packed. Besides the fact that I was only able to get three weeks of proper relaxation. The rest of my holiday consisted of me helping my best friend, Luke, and his band, 5 Seconds of Summer, move to LA.

It has been five years since we’ve seen each other ever since I moved from Australia to LA due to a sports scholarship that I got. We didn’t talk nor did we even write to each other during those five years. And now he’s here attending the same school as I am, life could not be better with my best friend back.

“Where are the others?” I asked, Luke shrugged his shoulders and leaned against the lockers beside mine as he waited patiently for me to exchange my books in and out.

“Ashton doesn’t go to school anymore. He’s 19.” He gives me a smile and I return it to him. A yawn escapes his mouth and it soon reaches to me and I do the same. You really can’t blame us, we arrived back in LA yesterday. In fact, this morning at 2 am then we had to wake up at 5 because the neighbourhood that we live in is an hours way from school. The boys blame Ashton for choosing a house so far away.

“What about Calum and Michael? Did they not come with you?” Luke rolls his eyes. I wonder what on earth the boys did this time.

“They did but then they disappeared. Most likely they’ll appear out of nowhere.” Luke stands up properly as I close my locker. Just like he had said earlier, Calum and Michael would appear out of nowhere. Calum jumped on Lukes back while Michael went on me, if I wasn’t their friend I would most likely hate them for the rest of my life.

“Told you.” Luke whispered. Definitely struggling to breathe by this sudden weight put on his back. But for me I’m used to this kind of thing, I mean c’mon I play a sport where people are constantly crashing into you at high speed. Whereas for Luke he doesn’t play. Yes he is sporty but the sports he plays aren’t as rough as Ice Hockey. Soon Calum jumps off of Luke’s back while I was able to get Michael comfortably on my back.

“How am I still on your back? Are you ok with me here?” Michael asks, looking at me with a questionable look on his face. I nod  then suddenly drop him off and he falls onto the floor, straight on his butt, with a loud thump. Luke, Calum and I go straight into laughing at him. Not even caring that there were others in the hallways and the fangirly girls were drooling over the sight of 3/4 of 5SOS.

“That was not nice.”

“What can I say? I’m a girl of surprises!” I high five the others as Michael finally gets up from the floor, rubbing his bum.

“Nicole?” My head pops up and I see Trevor standing not too far away. At the sight of him, I ditch the boys and skip my way over to him, immediately Trevor wraps an arm around my waist and pulling me in close. Since he was only a couple of inches taller than me, there was no need for me to tip toe to be able to kiss his lips.

“Hey, how was your summer?” He laces his hand with mine as the two of us walked around school, catching up with each other. Two months without the guy I love was torture and now that school is back I can see him once again.

“How do you know the three members of 5 Seconds of Summer?”

“Luke is an old friend of mine that I haven’t seen or talked to in five years.” Trevor nods and we sit down at a bench that wasn’t too far from our registration class. Our hands still together. I’ve absolutely missed him so much it’s unbelievable but finally being able to be this close to him feels great. His thumb rub my hand as we just sat there, enjoying each other’s company.
