Graces POV:
I sat there waiting for Minecraft to finish updating. I walk away and come back to see that Notch added a new game mode called "realism". " I bet this is gunna be cool" thinking to myself as the game loads. Immediately after pressing play my head began to hurt and I got really drowsy. " I guess I'll have to try tomorrow." I headed upstairs an went to bed. I woke up on soft cool sand. I rubbed my eyes and looked around only to realize that this was like nothing I had ever seen before. This wasn't A video game yet it wasn't real life. And then it hit me. "I'm in Minecraft!" I yelled as I sprung to my feet. "This must be a dream"I thought to myself. Well I guess I should enjoy it while it lasts. I began chopping down wood with my bare hands. "This is awesome!" Once I gathered enough wood I crafted some wooden tools and gathered some food. After, I made a small whole with my pick axe and collected just enough cobblestone to make a stone sword. The sun was setting and that was when I heard a man screaming. I grabbed my stuff and ran towards the voice. My heart started pounding as I witnessed a teenage boy being attacked by zombies and skeletons. I charged in with my sword held high swinging away at all of the mobs surrounding him ."There's too many!" The boy yelled. I looked around for an escape route and noticed a small cave about 100 blocks away. I grabbed his hand and lead him through the ambush. I went into the cave first to make sure it was safe. Luckily he had some torches that he could use to light up the cave. We placed some torches and blocked the opening. As I was closing the last hole I felt a sharp pain on the right side of my head.
CHAPTER TWO
I woke up to see the teenage boy sitting on a block of wool next to me. "Good morning." He said with a smile. "What happened?" I asked. "A skeleton hit you with an arrow. Lucky for you it just grazed the side of your head. You fell back and hit the wall though...It knocked you out." It was at this time I realized this wasn't a dream...this is real. "This isn't a dream Is it..." "No.... It isn't." He said. I'm guessing there was a bug with the new update. Notch is probably working on it as we speak. But until then we have to keep surviving. Are you hungry?" I looked up at him and nodded. He walked over to a furnace and pulled out some cooked chicken and handed it to me. "Thank you." I said as I took the food. " My name is Joseph by the way, but u can call me Jo. May I ask what your name is?" I was to busy eating and collecting my thoughts to provide him with an answer. Finally gathering my thoughts I answered him. "Grace, my name is Grace." He walked back over to the wool seat he had put together and sat down. "I never got to say thank you for saving me." He said. "Oh it was nothing." I replied as I continued eating. "No really, you could've kept going and walked away, why didn't you?" I sat there asking my self why I had helped him... I could have died. "We'll I thought I was dreaming and I hoped that if I'm ever in that much trouble someone will save me." "Whatever your reason was, thanks." I sat there beside him for a few more minutes and then he said " I need to go out and get us some supplies. The mobs know we are here and this isn't exactly a fortress. Will you be okay alone for a while?" "Yes" I told him. "Okay great. I'll be back by noon and then we can be on our way to a safer place." He said as he placed items in his backpack and put his tools on his tool belt. He opened a door that I assumed he placed while I was sleeping, and started heading outside. "Jo, be careful." Jo turned around with a grin on his face and said "Aaaw are you worried about me?" I laughed and then said " No! I just don't wanna have to come and save you again." He laughed. "I'll be okay."
CHAPTER THREE
I started packing up all of our gear and items we had found before the fight, and cooked the remaining food. Just as I finished packing I heard a bang and grabbed my sword. It was only Jo. "Hey how'd it go?" I asked him putting my sword on my back. "It went well. I got us 6 stacks of wood, a stack of coal, 4 iron and 15 pieces of different meat." Jo started to organize his findings, placing necessary items we might need for the trip on top, and things we probably won't need on the bottom. I finished helping him as we started some small talk "So how old are you Jo?" "I am 15, how old are you?" "I am 14" I said as I zipped up the bag. "Are you ready to leave Grace?" "Yeah." I broke down the door, collected the torches we had placed and took them with us. "Which direction do you wanna go in?" Hmmm I thought to myself. "Let's head north." He nodded and we left for our trip. "How much food do we have?" Jo asked. "Uuhhmm about enough to last us half a day if we run and until night fall if we walk." "Ok. Do you feel well enough to run?" "Yeah I'm totally fine." We began sprinting though a forest, followed by a desert, when suddenly I noticed a hole in the sand. " Jo come look at this!" he sprinted over with curiosity on his face. "Is that a dungeon?"
"Help me dig down to it!" We started digging down until we saw the two chests. I opened them finding 3 saddles 4 loafs of bread 8 melon seeds and some rotten flesh. "Well now if we find horses we can ride them." Jo nodded as he began cooking our food and smelting the iron. "How much further do u want to explore?" He asked me as he handed me one if the iron swords he just made." "Well it's about 2 o'clock so maybe another biome or two." He stated. We ran through a mountain biome and found a plains biome just beyond it. "This is perfect!" I said as I looked around. " Yeah it's perfect for building and there is a forest right there so we don't have to travel far for wood." Jo replied. "I'm going to go get us some wood so we can start our work." I said to Jo. "Ok just be careful." " I know how to play Minecraft Jo." I said sarcastically." "I never said you didn't. Just remember that this is a new update and obviously there are a few bugs. All I'm saying is we don't know exactly what's out there. So be on guard." I started walking into the forest as I said " I am always on guard."
CHAPTER FOUR
Joseph's POV:
I began to craft a bow and some other useful tools as I watched her disappear into the endless world of Minecraft. Should I have gone with her? No she can handler herself. Besides you barely know her. I thought to myself for a while. I chopped down some trees and started building a starter house which was just a 10x10 square.... After placing some chests, crafting tables and furnaces, I heard Grace open the door. "I see you found your way back." "Yeah you know it's not as easy as you think with all of these trees and colors." Grace said with an extremely girly voice. "Nice house you got goin on." she said, with a pleasant smile. "Thanks, it was so complicated especially with all of the numbers." I replied in the girliest way possible. "Well you did a great job regardless."Grace said to me. I walked over to the other half of the room and gestured over to the corners "I put our beds in these corners so that we are away from the door." I informed her. "Great I'm exhausted and it's almost sunset." She stated. Grace took off her backpack and sat on one of the surprisingly comfortable wool beds. We sat there in silence until she said "this is crazy..." I replied saying "I know.... How could something like this happen?." Grace bit her lip for a moment and asked "How long do you think we will be in here? I mean this is great and all but I can't exactly live in a cube world forever." I laugh and then thought for a moment. "Do you think.....if we die in here....." "We die in real life?" Grace finished my sentence. "I'm not sure but the way it felt when I was hit by that arrow was pretty realistic. We better be on our A game at all times just to be safe." The sun began to set and we both disappeared I to a sheet of darkness.
CHAPTER FIVE
I hear a rattling noise and jumped out of bed with my sword. I look up and see Grace staring at me with curiosity in her eyes.... "I made some breakfast for ya." She said with a smile. "Oh thank you Grace." I said as my voice cracked. I coughed to cover it up in hopes that she would think that it was just my morning voice. "Your welcome." She said as he handed me a plate filled with chicken and slices of apples and oranges. "How did you make a plate? And where did you get oranges from!?" I asked her with huge curiosity on my voice. "Notch added plates to the game. And I guess he added oranges to because I found some in the trees earlier."
