Locked Up | Ch. 10

I wake to my phone ringing. I squint and feel around for it. I am getting a call from Audrey. "Hullo?" I muttered.

"Something really bad happened." She said. I sit up. "What?? What happened?" I asked. "Sid got caught smoking weed." She said. "Oh shit....." I rub my eyes. "SHIT!" I yelled and threw the phone.

Sid got sentenced to three months of jail. Audrey and I headed to Daniel's house to hear the story. We all sat around in the living room, like the day they rode up to our school. Gale and Jeremy were also there.

"Okay. So me and Sid are sitting outside at like 1 AM smoking and all the sudden he starts calling Audrey a slut and saying racist stuff about her." Daniel began.

I looked over at Audrey who had an angry expression on her face. "Then what happened?" Gale asked. "I started yelling at him. We almost fought until the police showed up. I was so mad at him that I made a run for it. But he was also calling you ugly and stuff." Daniel said to me.

"What the fuck..." I said under my breath. "Fuck him then." Jeremy snickered. "I'm just... Gonna go home." I tell Audrey it is ok for her to stay and I take my bike home.

I couldn't be mad at Daniel. He didn't do anything wrong. But I was mad at Sid. Kissing me and then calling me ugly? I sigh and realize how many times I've been played in just the past few months.

So Sid was in jail and I decided to just lock myself away in the house for the next few days. Audrey kept checking on me but I lied and said I was sick. On the third day of isolating myself, I check my phone to see that I have a message from Jeremy asking if I'm ok.

"Idk" I responded. "You should come chill with us tonight. I'm bored af." He said. "Okay I guess I will." I typed. I sighed and took a hot shower. I put on a lacy grey shirt and a pair of shorts.

When I arrived, Audrey and Daniel were swimming in the lake and Jeremy was lying on a towel in the grass. "Ohh look who it is." Audrey smiled. "Hey." I waved to them. "Feeling better?" She asked.

"Yup." I said taking a seat next to Jeremy. "Wassup." He smirked. "Nothing..." I said tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. Audrey suddenly pulled me into Daniel's house.

"Guess what!!" She laughed. "What?" I shrugged. "Apparently Jeremy wants to kiss you." She exclaimed. "What??? Jeremy???" I freaked. "Yupp now go back out there!"

She pushed me back outside and I sit back where I was. A few awkward minutes go by when he puts his arm around me. I try hard not to shake. I am nervous, but I smile big.
