Chapter Two

I heard the door to the house slam. I knew Mom was pissed at somebody and that somebody was probably me because if I'm thinking correctly Tyra called Mom and told her I'm pregnant. Mom never slams doors in the house unless she's really mad at me or at somebody else.

"Halley Miranda Winfrey, get down here now!" Mom yelled.

I sighed before walking downstairs to see her impatiently waiting downsntairs. She tapping her foot, arms crossed, and a disappointed but mad face. When, I came into her sight she broke down. She went into tears.

"I thought I raised you better than this, Halley. I've told you a million times and you promised me you'd wait until marriage. I can't believe you betray me. You're my only child, I wanted you to wait. Why did I find out from Tyra instead of you?" Mom cried.

I looked away from her and tears strolled down my face. I felt Mom tugging on me. I pulled away from her and started running up the stairs. "Halley!"

I made to my room and closed the door. I climbed in my bed and started crying into my pillow. I was feeling guilty and pregnant. It wasn't to intentionally hurt my mother. Shawn talked me into it and I went through with it. No protection or anything. I knew I didn't take any birth control that day but I wasn't planning on doing something like that. I should've just left him alone. This wouldn't have happened if I would've just stayed home instead of going out.

"Me and my girls, me, me, and my girls", my phone rang.

I looked at it and it was Jasmine. I picked up the phone and tried to clear my voice so she didn't know that I was crying. "Hello."

"Hey, Halley. I need to know three things. First things first, do you want to hang out today? Why were you crying? And can you babysit Naia everyday after school and on the weekends until I get off work?" Jasmine said in a mouthful.

"Hanging out is a yes, why I was crying I'll tell you when you pick me up, and babysitting my niece a definite yes", I said smiling.

"Alright. Glad I could lift those spirits up, boo-boo. Be there in ten", Jasmine said before hanging up.

I climbed out of bed and made my way into a nice soothing warm shower. I climbed out of the shower and wrapped the towel around me. I blow dried my hair and then flat ironed but curled the ends of my golden-blonde hair. I put on one coat of mascara and put lipstick on to make my lips glossy. I walked out the bathroom and decided on some vermillion skinny jeans that caught my curves in all the right places, a blue jean shirt with a tanktop underneath, and some cute white wedged sneakers.

I heard a car horn beep outside and I grabbed my iPhone and walked downstairs. Mom was sitting on the couch. I guess she was waiting for me to come down even though I was leaving with Jasmine.

I got to the door before I heard her voice fill my ears, "Where are you going, Halley?"

"Hanging out with somebody", I said before reaching for the door handle.

"Hanging out with who?" Mom asked.

"A person", I said swinging open the door.

"If you walk out that door without letting me know who you're going with I'm kicking you out of my house and you won't ever come back again!" Mom said yelling.

I froze and thought about it. I could go and live with Jasmine and Naia or my Dad. Maybe even one of my friends. I didn't want to throw them off track with the baby. I sighed and turned to her. "Jasmine, wnated me to hang out with her today. Like go to Panera Bread, Carnival with Naia, and going to her house", I said.

"Alright, go and have fun with Jasmine but not too much fun because we have enough already", Mom said rubbing my bump.

I climbed into Jasmine's car and she was giggling. "What is so freaking funny, Jasmine?"

"I heard everything Mom said", Jasmine said.

"Shut up you piece of dirt", I said.

"You wanna go there with me, Halley Miranda?" Jasmine said giving me that look as she stopped at a red light.

I shook my head quickly, obviously knowing what she was talking about. "No, thank you. How do you feel about becoming an auntie in just five short months?" I said looking at Jasmine who pushed on the gas.

"I honestly don't know, Halley. I'm excited but I'm nervous. What if something goes wrong like in my pregnancy? Naia's cord was wrapped around her neck", Jasmine said glancing back at Naia who was sleep.

"I'm pretty sure if that happens the baby will be fine. You just have to trust and hope that the birth goes smoothly but lets not think about that because it's too early to even be thinking about it. So, where are we going?" I said placing my hand on my bump.

"Out to eat, probably Panera Bread or McDonald's where Naia can play. I just want a little break but at the same time to be with my little girl", Jasmine said.

"Then, let's go to that McDonald's up the street with the little playground", I said as she parked by a gas pump.

"I need gas first. Can you pump the gas while I go inside and get me some gum", Jasmine said handing me her credit card.

"Alright", I said getting out of the car as Jasmine scurried away into the store.

I started pumping the gas as a lady walked up to me. I gave her a warm smile, she just smiled back at me. She couldn't be no older than her mid-teens. "Hello, I'm Lindsay. I couldn't help but come over here. I noticed that you were pregnant."

"Yeah, four almost five months pregnant. I'm very excited but my sister's excited and nervous", I said chuckling as I put the gas thing back into its slot.

"Is that little girl in there your other child?" Lindsay asked.

"No, that's my niece. Her name's Nyraia but we call her Naia for short. I'm Halley, by the way. But, yeah. This is my first child, I might be young but with the help of my Mom and sister I'll be just fine", I said smiling.

"How old are you, Halley?" Lindsay asked apllying hand lotion on her cocoa brown skin.

"I just turned fourteen. How old are you?" I said.

"I'm seventeen. A word of advice for being a teen mom. Be strong and always put your child first because when you're a single parent it's harder than with their father helping you. I had my first and only one at thirteen. She's four now. She's walking out of the store with my Mom now", Lindsay said as I saw a beautiful mixed little girl with gray eyes walking with an older woman.

"Momma, look what grandma bought me from the store", the little girl said holding up a snickers bar.

"That's nice of grandma, isn't it? Did you say thank you, Brianna?" Lindsay said.

Brianna shook her head really fast. "Good job, Brianna. I'll be in the car in a minute, Mom. I just want to finish talking with Halley really quick."
