"I was wondering, myself alone, who would ever call me on my phone. Then one day a beauty asked for my number, a thing I thought possible only within my slumber. He invited me to the winter bash, all I needed was a little cash, that dance ended in an ice cold crash when he and his friends thought I, they could bash. They were set aflame in a horrific scene, or at least that's what I heard from our school's Dean. I have no clue what happened that night, but for many a year the unknown gave me a fright." Journal of Harrison Blake 1954.
The news station playing in the coffee shop was the only thing i heard, "Freak Accident Kills 22 Adults and 2 Children as a Bus Loses Control on the Freeway." The Newscaster falters and continues on with a smile, "The accident is currently being investigated by the FBI for ties to the terrorist group HellBound"
The barisata had to snap in front of me to get my attention, "What can i get for you today sir?" She said with annoyance palpable in every syllable. "Could i get a grande, white chocolate Machiato?" I payed, she accepted the 6 dollar tip I added, and then I waited.
Now on the television, a police chief is giving a statement, "We will be cooperating with the FBI in this investigation, and we are going to find this guy, simple as that." My hands started to tremble.
"White chocolate machiato!" The barista called and snapped me back to reality. I got my coffee and left the shop. Why did that statement make me so nervous? My hands continued to tremble as I walked down the street, I took a sip of my coffee and continued on until I reached my apartment.
It was that night that I had a nightmare. Flames swirling around me, screaming from my friends, a support joint from the ceiling falls, and then black. I woke up, shaking. The images that flashed in my mind seemed so familiar, yet so far away. I was still half asleep when my smoke alarm went off and I jumped up, smoke was drifting away from my bed and there was a scorch mark burned through my mattress. What is happening to me?
I couldn't sleep for the rest of the night.
