"Brooke I'm going out for a while, I'll be back later in time for Siva's party," I told her.

She groaned and nodded her head tiredly before falling back to sleep. I rolled my eyes at her, told her not to go out last night but she didn't listen. I made sure I had my phone, keys and money before leaving the dorm. I went to the vending machine and got a chocolate bar before leaving the dorm blocks while eating my chocolate bar. When I got outside I instantly got hit with the cold air, I tugged my jumper down over my hands and began to quickly walk to my car and nearly fell over but luckily I stayed on my feet. I headed over to my car and got in before putting the empty wrapper in my jeans pocket and then started the car up. I began driving towards where my parents house was.

Once I arrived, I took a deep breath and looked at the house. Snow was already lightly falling to the ground, I missed California so much. I sighed before getting out of my warm car and into the cold air once again and walking steadily onto the pavement before going up to the door. I knocked on it before rubbing my hands together as I shivered.

"Please hurry up," I whispered and my air turned into mist.

Finally my mom answered the door, I quickly stepped in and stomped my feet against the mat.

"Hello Alexis," my mother greeted curtly.

I smiled slightly and looked up and she was of course not smiling, "hi mom," I said and took my beanie off before running a hand through my hair and then putting it back on again.

"Come into the kitchen, your father is not well so he is upstairs resting." My mother said before walking away.

I frowned, my dad was normally never ill. I wonder what was wrong.

I followed my mom into the kitchen and saw my little brother at the table doing homework, yeah my mom really is that tough making a child do homework on a Saturday.

Jonathan looked up when I entered and his face lit up, "Lexi! Where's Nathan?" Jo asked.

I rolled my eyes at him while my mother glared slightly, "hey Jo what you doing?" I asked dismissing the subject.

"Maths homework, it's so boring," Jo complained.

I ruffled his hair, "hey kiddo you need to do it. Maybe I can help you out," I suggested.

He nodded his head and I looked down at his question, "times tables, ok let's try this one. 10 times 3," I said.

Jo looked up at me confused, "what's the answer?" Jo asked.

I smirked slightly, "doesn't work that way. Come on I know you know the answer you are just being lazy," I teased, "plus you are going to what is it? Oh yeah secondary next year, you need to know this stuff."

"I didn't at my old school," Jo mumbled.

"Yeah you did, come on if you do all of it I'll play tag or something," I suggested.

Jo nodded his head grinning and went back to doing his maths homework.

I looked at my mother who was busy making drinks. When she was done she looked up at me, "Lexi can we talk in the living room please?" My mother asked.

I gulped before nodding my head, "sure," I replied and she handed me a cup of tea before walking into the living room. I smiled at Jo before following her.

I sat down on the sofa and looked at her, "I do not like you going behind my back and staying at that Nathan's house. Especially since he is so rude, you have changed Alexis. If you don't sort your act out then we will go back to California," my mother said snidely.

I looked at her shocked, if she had said that in the beginning then yes I would have been all for it but now I don't want to leave, "you don't have the right to tell me what to do anymore. I am nearly 19, and you need to start treating me like I am 19." I said.

My mother rolled my eyes, "so childish. I am not liking your tone, young lady. Stop acting out. I have enough to deal with already without you playing about with some stupid boy."

I glared at her, "you know nothing about him! You have no right saying that about him when you know nothing, I like him mom and I'm not going to change that!" I blurted out before covering my mouth with my free hand.

My mother raised an eyebrow but I shook my head and stood up, I placed the cup if tea on the table, "until you start understanding that I'm not a little girl anymore, call me." I mumbled before leaving the living room and going back into the kitchen where I saw my dad making a drink with my brother looking at him concerned.

"Hey dad," I smiled.

He turned around and I was shocked at him looking so frail, he seemed a lot older than 42 years. Normally my dad was young and healthy but now he just looked sick.

"Hey kiddo, didn't know you were coming round," he smiled before coughing.

I looked at Jo who seemed confused and upset before walking over to my dad and touched his shoulder, "you need rest dad. You don't look too well," I said softly.

My dad shook his head, "I'm not that old yet. I'm going to make my drink and then go watch some soccer," my dad mumbled.

"Football in England dad," I corrected.

My dad smiled, "look at you already knowing English slang hey?"

I rolled my eyes, "I'll make you a drink. Go sit down in the living room ok?" I said.

He went to protest but I shook my head, "go now." I ordered.

My dad rolled his eyes, "fine." He said before walking away.

I started making him a drink, "will dad be ok?" Jo asked.

I nodded my head, "of course he will. He just isn't feeling well at the moment," I smiled. I honestly didn't know the answer. I hoped it was just an illness that will go soon.

I finished making his drink before smiling again at my brother and then heading back into the living room. My mother wasn't there which was good and I saw my dad sitting on the sofa with the television on.

"Here you go dad," I said and handed him his cup.

My dad smiled at me, "thanks kiddo. How long you here for?"

"Not long. I got a car a few days ago," I said missing out the part where Nathan had bought the car for me.

"That's great. How are classes? Anything happening at unuversity? How is that Nathan boy and his family? I called Paul up and apologised." My dad rambled.

I smiled and sat down on a chair, "classes are fine, pretty good actually. There's a Christmas dance thing soon, Nathan is... Nathan is good so are his family," I answered.

My dad nodded his head before coughing again, I frowned slightly, "are you alright?" I asked.

My dad nodded his head, "yeah you know me. I'll be fine, don't worry about me. Are you and Nathan together?"

I looked at him shocked, "dad! Like I would talk boy talk with you," I mumbled.

He laughed, "he seems ok. Got a bit of an attitude but that's perfect for you, just if he hurts you I hurt him."

I groaned, "thanks for that dad," I mumbled before my phone buzzed. I got my phone out and checked the message.

'Where are you? -Nathan'

I rolled my eyes and put my phone away and saw my dad giving me a look, "if it's Nathan go see him. He's more important than talking about classes with your old man," my dad joked.

"No he's not dad," I defended.

My dad smiled slightly, "go. It was great seeing you Lexi, you can come around whenever you want this is still your home as well."

I sighed before standing up, "thanks dad. I promise to come around when I can. Great seeing you too," I mumbled.

My dad smiled again before turning his attention to the television. I looked at him before going out of the living room, I walked into the kitchen and waved to my brother, "see you later Jo." I said.

"Bye Lexi." Jo mumbled.

I smiled before leaving the kitchen and went towards the door. I opened it, "Alexis," a voice said. I turned and looked at my mom, "would you mind picking Jonathan up on Monday? I have to work late and your father is working as well if he isn't off ill."

I looked at her shocked before nodding my head, "yeah. Yeah, I will."

My mom nodded her head before walking into the kitchen leaving me in the hallway. I started smiling before leaving the house. I closed the door before heading towards my car, I got in and turned the radiator on as the car warmed up I texted Nathan and saw other texts from him asking where I was.

'Meet me at my dorm in ten minutes -Lexi' I texted back before I began driving back to the campus.

I was getting nervous about seeing Nathan, I did just admit to my mom that I like him. What was wrong with me? All he does is hurt me and I keep going back to him. I guess that was what my problem was.

I arrived at campus and turned my car off before getting out into the cold air. Snow began falling and a chill went up my spine before I quickly walked towards the dorms trying not to fall over. When I got into the dorm block I quickly went up to my floor and headed towards my dorm. I unlocked the door and saw that Brooke wasn't there, I checked the time and it was 3pm. I closed the door before sighing and then looked down at what I was wearing, jeans, t-shirt and a jumper also my converse and beanie.

The door opened, I quickly turned around and looked at Nathan. He was breathing deeply as he looked at me with his piercing green eyes. I gulped slightly, "hi," I whispered.

Nathan said nothing and started walking up to me, I panicked and walked backwards until walking into a wall, "what do you want?" I asked shakily.

Nathan tilted his head at me as he chewed on his silver lip ring, "you," he muttered.

I blushed, "erm ok seriously what do you want?" I asked confused.

He raised an eyebrow before pushing his body against mine, I stopped breathing for a moment before giving out a shaky breath, "I... you drive me crazy. All I have been thinking about all fucking week is you. And I hate it. But all I think about is you and how I want you to be mine," he said and moved some hair away from my face.

I looked at him with wide eyes, "you have?"

Nathan chewed on his lip ring as he placed his hands on my waist, "yes. Now let me fucking kiss you," he muttered before pressing his chapped lips against mine.

I gasped shocked before my eyes closed and I began moving my lips in sync with his. My arms lifted themselves around his neck and my hand gripped his hair slightly. I felt Nathan smirk against my lips before he gently bit down on my lip. My eyes widened in shock before he pulled away and then kissed my forehead, "I... Erm..." I mumbled not knowing what to say.

"I was a dick. But... I've been thinking, give us a chance. I know I hate titles but just give me a chance," he asked quietly.

I looked at him before sighing, "you just keep hurting me Nathan." I mumbled.

He gripped my waist tightly, "I know. That's what I do, yet you keep coming back I know you want this as well Lexi. Just give me a chance that's all I'm asking."

I looked into his eyes before nodding my head, "ok. You get one chance Nathan," I whispered.

Nathan gave a cheeky smile before leaning down and pressing his lips against mine again. He pulled back and leaned his forehead against mine, "I also talked to my mum. I'm moving back there so no more small bed." He teased.

I rolled my eyes and poked his chest, "the bed was really uncomfortable ok," I said.

He chuckled, "I know baby," he smirked and my stomach warmed at hearing him calling me that name, "where were you?" Nathan asked.

"Seeing my family," I said quietly.

He tensed a little, "what happened?" he asked.

"It actually went alright. I'm picking my brother up after school on Monday," I smiled.

Nathan nodded his head before changing the subject, "are you going to Siva's party tonight?" Nathan asked.

I nodded my head, "course. Where is it again?"

"At Tom's flat, Seev doesn't want a huge thing. It's only me, Brooke, Tom, Max, Siva obviously, Jay and you. Not the others." Nathan replied.

I let out a sigh of relief, "great. I need to change." I mumbled.

Nathan pulled away slightly and looked at my outfit while chewing his lip ring, "you look fine." He answered.

"I don't." I complained.

Nathan rolled his eyes, "baby you do. Now shut up," he teased. I rolled my eyes before pushing him away and went over to my cupboard.

I picked out a dress and held it up against me while Nathan groaned and sat down on my bed. He raised an eyebrow at me, and I put the dress away before getting a skirt and looked at Nathan who rolled his eyes. I bit my lip before putting the skirt back in and flicked through my clothes before groaning, "I don't know what to wear," I whined.

Nathan chuckled and I went over to him and sat down on my bed as well, "wear what you are wearing, come on lets go now." He said and kissed my forehead.

I sighed as Nathan stood up and took my hand pulling me up. I grabbed Siva's card and his box of brownies before I left my dorm with Nathan. I locked the door behind me before walking down the stairs with Nathan. I expected Nathan to pull my hand out of his as we walked pass students but he didn't. I was shocked before I started smiling.

We went outside into the cold winter air, "why are you all smiley?" Nathan asked frowning slightly.

I shook my head saying nothing. Nathan rolled his eyes and sorted his black beanie out and moved his fringe away from his eye before we walked over to his car. I watched my steps carefully, so I didn't slip on the ice before getting into Nathan's car.

I put my seatbelt on while Nathan started the car up before he began driving to Tom's flat.

"Staying at my house tonight?" Nathan asked.

I looked at him before looking back outside as it started snowing again, "I don't know," I answered.

Nathan smirked, "yeah you will. We're here."

I looked at the flats before getting out of his car with Siva's things. Nathan came over and swung his arm over my shoulders before guiding me over to the front door. He pressed on a bell before we heard Tom's voice, "who is it?"

"Open the fucking food you dick," Nathan snapped annoyed.

I smacked his chest and he winked at me, "wanker," Tom muttered before the door buzzed opened.

Nathan smirked while I gave him a look, "so rude," I mumbled entering the flats hallway.

Nathan closed the door and we began walking up the stairs, "babe you dig it," he winked.

I blushed, "twat," I muttered as we walked up to Tom's flat.

Nathan chuckled before the door for Tom's flat opened and we saw Max standing there. He looked at Nathan's arm around me before winking at me, "hey," Max said as we walked inside.

There was music on, the others were gathered around the sofas with drinks, "hi Max," I smiled.

Nathan nodded at Max before he looked at me, "go sit down I'll get you two a drink. Coke for you Lexi?" Max asked.

I bit my lip and went to say no but Nathan cut me off, "yeah get her a coke, come on babe," Nathan muttered and guided me over to the sofa.

I glared at him slightly before seeing Siva and getting out of Nathan's hold and going over to Siva, "hey Seev. Happy birthday, it's not much but it's from Brooke and I," I said handing him his things.

Siva grinned, "thanks darling, you too Brooke."

"You are getting old mate," Nathan joked and sat down on a single sofa.

Siva flipped him off, all the boys seemed alright with each other now maybe a little tense but they still seem alright, "I'm only 23," Siva said and rolled his eyes.

"Ignore him he's a dick," I said smiling innocently as they laughed. I turned and saw Nathan glaring at before going to sit down on a sofa next to Jay but Nathan grabbed my arm and pulled me onto his lap. I blushed and looked down at my hands as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"Are you two together?" Jay asked smirking slightly.

I got ready for Nathan to deny it and make me look like an idiot, "yeah," Nathan answered.

I looked behind me and at him shocked. Nathan chewed his lip ring before pulling me back against his chest, I smiled again before looking at Brooke who gave me a smile.

Tom frowned slightly and stared at Nathan before smiling at me, "great. Max you owe me £10 mate," Tom said as Max came in with our drinks.

He gave me a can of coke and Nathan a beer, "what for?" Max asked sitting down.

"We made a bet. I said that I get £10 if they got together before Christmas," Tom said and Max handed him the money. I rolled my eyes at them before Tom looked at me, "we like our bets. Right Nathan?" Tom said.

I felt Nathan tense up slightly, "oh yeah," Nathan muttered and everyone looked at each other. I frowned and looked at Brooke who was looking at her drink.

"Hey up for playing cards?" Jay asked breaking the silence.

Siva nodded his head, "yeah. Let's play poker or something," Siva said.

He got a pack of cards and started shuffling them, "I suck at poker." Brooke whined.

"Good that means more money for us," Max teased.

Brooke flipped him off, "right me and Jay as a team, Tom and Max as a team then Brooke, Lexi and Nathan?" Siva said.

"Why am I with the girls?" Nathan muttered.

I elbowed him but he just kissed my neck quickly making me blush, "because you might as well be one," Jay said.

Nathan lifted me off him gently and I stood up before walking over to Siva and watched Nathan stand up and go over to Jay with a threatening look.

Jay rolled his eyes before Nathan pushed him off the chair making everyone laugh. Jay got up from the floor and glared at Nathan while his cheeks were slightly red.

I giggled at Nathan before sitting down with Brooke while Nathan and Jay bickered back and forth. Siva dealt the cards before looking at me and Brooke, "ready to lose girls?" Siva asked.

"Yeah," Brooke muttered as Nathan looked at me.

"I'm with Jay and Siva, no way am I with the girls," Nathan said before smirking.

I shrugged, "its fine. We don't need you anyway, you will probably make us lose." I said smiling.

Nathan chewed on his lip ring before smirking, "bring it New Girl," he said.

I looked at Brooke who was looking hopeless then looked back at him, "ok Nathan." I answered.

**

"How the fuck did they win." Tom complained.

Brooke and I looked at each other before laughing, "I use to play all the time with my dad and his friends. Pay up boys," I teased as they paid us the money.

I held my hand out and they put the money in my hand before I looked at Nathan waiting for him to pay me. He glared at me before getting out his money and paying me as well. I giggled before splitting the money with Brooke so she got half as well.

"Another game?" Brooke asked.

"Fuck no," Siva muttered.

The others shook their head as well, "no way." Jay said.

I grinned before looking back at Nathan who was still frowning. I stood up and went over to him and sat next to him in the floor. He took my hand and laced out fingers together before trailing my hand his his free one.

"You never told me you could play poker," he mumbled.

"You never asked," I replied.

Nathan gave a small smile before looking at me and kissed the side of my head, "you are defiantly going to be a challenge," he teased.

I smiled, "you dig it," I said mimicking his British accent and what he had said earlier.

"Obviously." He said rolling his eyes.
