Chapter 15: Mother Steve

•Loki's P.O.V•

I woke up with beads of sweat running down the temples of my face.
I breathed out an unsteady breathe and ran my fingers through my hair,
It was just a dream..a mere nightmare..nothing to be afraid of..

"Nng..hm? Loki? You're already up?"

I jumped up and readied myself in a defensive position.
Clint stared at me drowsily with an arched brow.
Oh...its just arrow man..

I chuckled nervously, I was just being paranoid.
"Loki c'mere" Clint mumbled and ushered me to him.

I looked at him suspiciously but nevertheless walked over to Clint and sat beside him,he quickly wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close.
"C-clint?! What are y-"

"Its m'kay Loki..you're safe. No need to be scared anymore"Clint chuckled softly and nuzzled his nose on my head.

...

"Clint you idiotic mortal. Whats with that random sentence jeez.." I mumbled quietly as small tears made its way down my cheeks.
I snuggled in further into Clint's arms,
Somehow,with those words, I felt a wave of relief come over me.
I'm safe, Clint said so..

And with that I fell asleep soundly again.

•Steve's P.O.V•

"B-BANNER! Are you alright?!"
I quickly made my way to where Bruce was thrown from the violent wave.

He seemed to be knocked unconscious,
Maybe he hit his head on a tree?
Nevertheless I picked him up and carried him on my back.

What the hell was up with that wave anyway?
I shook my head from my thoughts and quickly made my way back to the lodge,
Maybe the others know more about that sudden wave just now.

*Le time skip~*

"Steve! Thank god! Have you seen Bruce??" Natasha looked exhausted, who knew why.

I slowly placed Bruce down onto the bench, "He's been knocked unconscious why?"

Thor glanced at Natasha then looked downwards,he looked disappointed,"Wait why? Do you guys know anything  about that wave?" I asked confused, why would no one give me answers?

"We dont know what was with that wave,but we're sure it somehow had to do with Loki. When we fought with the chitauri, Loki's magic felt different. Like it had been adjusted to something more powerful, so powerful in fact it changed the colour of his eyes" Thor explained and turned to Natasha.
"We were hoping that Bruce would help us in finding more clues about the wave..but I guess that can be done later"Natasha finished and folded her arms.

"Wait, where's the others? Where's the main suspect??"I asked confused, did everyone get separated??

"Tony is trying to locate Clint and Loki as we speak.
It's weird actually, he should've found them by now" Natasha said, worry clear on her face.

"Its fine. He can take care of any problem if he happens to run into one.
But for now, I was supposed to ask earlier but, why has Banner been knocked unconscious?" Thor asked, he inspected Bruce closer.
Guess the god of thunder has a soft spot for our scientist..

"Its fine really! He most likely just knocked his head on a tree. Give him a few more hours and he'll be up" I chuckled lightly and gently punched Thor on the arm.
The god was bemused and punched back with a little more force.
Had to say it stung for a bit.
