Daughter of Day's Darkness

Two weeks ago Hope was put in the hospital. She had a tumor on her leg. She couldn't walk. She is alone at the moment in her hospital room. "Why do I even bother taking this treatment? I'm just going to die anyways." She said to herself. 1 week ago She found out her brother, Jack, had hung himself. She went to his funeral three days later. Today she found out her best friend had committed suicide. Her eyes filled with tears and she screamed. She screamed until her lungs gave out. She cried until there was a small puddle on her bed. She was shaking. Her Aunt threw open the door and hugged her. You see her parents were killed in a shooting. Her Aunt gained custody and paid for the hospital bills. The poor 14 year old cried into her Aunts shoulder, "Why is my world so dark?" She asked. Her Aunt replied, "So that way it will become much brighter towards the end." The just sat there hugging each other. Silence. Hope soon fell asleep with tear stains still on her cheeks. Her aunt kissed her forehead and turned off the lights. As she walked out of the room, she too let tears run down her face. As the night came to a close, tears had fallen.

(Hope's POV)
This morning was the day I have the surgery to remove the tumor. Doctors were rushing back and forth doing a quick check with everything. My eyes were sunken in giving me a ghostly look. Then I heard "Everything is ready." Then the countdown started until I would be put to sleep for a few hours, but the medicine induced coma would last about a week until the pain settles. Let's hope life gets better in-
