(Sorry I haven't posted in a while...)
Ellie's POV
I stared in shock at the message on Ricky's phone. "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?" I yelled, probably waking up everyone on my block. The message was from Jessica and it read "If you really think you are coming over to my place to hang, you are completely fucking wrong. After what you did with that little slut Ellie or whatever her name is, you aren't gonna see me for a while. In fact, why don't you just go stay at her place from now on. I'm gonna be expecting an amazing apology soon." Ricky looked at me with big puppy eyes. I scoffed, "No way you're staying with me. Why don't you just stay at your place?" "Knowing Jess, the place she claims is hers is my house so..." Ricky trailed off. I slightly banged my head on the door frame a few times and looked back at Ricky, still with puppy eyes on his face. "So, what do you say? Wanna be roommates for a bit?" Ricky said hopefully. It took a moment for me to respond. I just blanked out, thinking about all the possible outcomes of me saying yes. What if my parents come back early? What if Jessica comes over? All these questions ran through my thoughts. Then, I finally made my decision. "Fine...I guess you can stay..." I said in a tone of tiredness and annoyance. "Thanks Ellie, I owe you one" Ricky said and walked into my house. I closed the door and started to walk upstairs to my room. "Wait!" Ricky called out. "Yeah?" I said, rubbing my eyes and yawning. "Aren't you going to kiss me goodnight?" He said cheekily. My eyes opened in shock. "What? What are you trying to say?" I asked confused. "Just kidding chill. Just wanted to see your reaction. Now go sleep." Ricky laid on the living room couch. "I'll sleep here for a while." Too lazy to respond, I sluggishly walked upstairs and plopped into my bed. I immediately fell asleep.
----------time skip to morning------------
I woke up at 5 in the morning, awaken by the sounds of an acoustic guitar and soft singing. It was kind of angelic. I lazily got out of bed, wearing the same clothes from last night, and began to walk downstairs, where the noise seemed to be coming from. I walked halfway down the steps and look over my railing, down onto my couch. The soft singing noise and the beautiful guitar, they were coming from Ricky. I watched as he played a note then sang a lyric. He wrote down everything he sang and played. It was kind of surprising, seeing him be calm and relaxed, it....was kinda cute. Not that I liked him or anything, cute in a friendly way of course. I decided to sit down on my step to continue watching, but the board on the step creaked. Ricky looked up and we met eyes. "Morning! Were you watching me?" Ricky got up and sat next to me on the steps. "Pft of course not! I was just observing you. Where did you get all that stuff anyway?" I questioned. "Chris dropped it for me last night, he knows how serious I am about my song writing." He said. "Oh well, you...you have a nice voice. You're pretty talented. You should be serious." I said, looking down at the shoes Ricky gave me. "Thanks...." He laughed, putting his arm around me, "You ok, bud?" I looked up into his eyes. "I'm fine, just a little sleepy. Since you woke me up and all." I said. "Oh shit really? Sorry, I'll go outside if you're going back to sleep." He got up and walked outside with all of his music stuff and I walked back upstairs. After a few minutes of staring blankly at my ceiling, I realized that I wasn't going to fall asleep anytime soon. I got up and walked outside to just relax. It was still pretty dark outside, it was beautiful though. Ricky was seated on one of the steps leading to my door. He turned and greeted me with a smile. "Hey, what are you doing up?" He said then looked back down at his guitar. "Couldn't fall asleep. Thought I would relax a little with you." I said, sitting on the green grass of my front lawn, facing Ricky. He looked up, chuckled and looked back down, "Sure why not. You can see the softer side of Mr. Bad Boy." He plucked at his guitar strings and sang beautiful song lyrics. I was mesmerized by his voice. Soon enough my trance was broken by a harsh breeze. I yelled," Fuck it's cold." Ricky looked up, "Why didn't you bring a jacket?" This situation seeming all too familiar. "I don't know. I didn't plan on staying out in the cold for this long." I said, getting up to get a jacket. "Wait." Ricky said, grabbing my hand. I sat next to him as he took off his jacket. I stopped him," Ricky please you don't have to." "No it's okay, you've...you've seen them already." He gulped. He gave me his jacket and I looked at his arms, scattered with cuts, some looked new but I decided not to say anything. "It would help if you didn't stare" He said, plucking at his guitar, not making eye contact. I stared at his guitar and focused on the words he sang, ".....I am lost without you here and outside it looks like rain..." "That's beautiful." I said, laying my head on his shoulder. He looked at me and smiled, then continued to play until the sun came up.
