"I have to go down to the basement, I know that." Oliver says to Lilian. "Well do it tonight." Lilian responds. "How the hell am I supposed to do that?" Oliver asks her. "Well wait till everyone is sleeping, then you sneak out of your bedroom, and go down, I will sneak you the key somehow." Lilian says. "Nice plan. I will. I need to learn about her, and see what is going on down there." Oliver says.
Kathryn walks over. "Lilian I need to speak to you right now." Kathryn says. Lilian looks at her. "About what?" Lilian asks. "Can we have a minute alone?" Kathryn asks Oliver. Oliver nods, he gets up, and walks off. "Why did you do this to me? I can't even leave this place. I got lashes thirty times by Stella for arguing with her." Kathryn says. "Well Stella new what you were up to, and she wanted you to get your real story, and I'm the only one who knows what to with things like that." Lilian responds. "So I'm stuck like this? Forever?" Kathryn asks. Lilian laughs. "Oh no my spells never last forever. It will wear off, eventually. You will have your story." Lilian says to Kathryn. "How long will I be like this?" Kathryn asks Lilian. Lilian looks at her. "You will have until you get the story you were really looking for, then the spell will be broken." Lilian says. Lilian gets up and walks out of the rec room.
"This lunch is really gross today; it doesn't taste like regular meat." Oliver says to Lilian. "Lilian grabs his hand and slides a key into it. "There is the key to the basement. Just I need you to remember one thing. It's really important." Lilian says to Oliver. "What is that?" Oliver responds back. "Remember to shut and lock the door back up, if not everyone in here could end up in serious danger, I can see it." Lilian says. "I will lock the door back, promise." Oliver says.
After class, Stella told everyone to lay down for bed. Every kid goes to their bed, and go to sleep. After Stella's door shuts and you Oliver heard the door lock, he waited fifth teen minutes. Oliver gets up. He walks over to the door. The concrete floor is cold on his bare feet. He is in a white tee-shirt and black sweat pants. He has bags underneath his eyes. He reaches the door.
He goes to touch the door knob really slowly. When he grabs it, he turns it slowly. He opens the door slowly so it doesn't make a creak. When the door is open and he walks out of the room, he closes the door behind him. He goes to the basement door. The door isn't locked. He doesn't think anything about it.
He opens the basement door, and starts to walk down the steps. Then he reaches a big red metal door. "This is the door the key goes with." He whispers to himself. He puts his hands in his sweat pants pocket and pulls out a light brown key. He puts the key on the lock and unlocks the door.
He pushes the door open slowly. "What do you want Stella?" Cleo said. "I'm not Stella." Oliver responds. "Who are you then? What do you want?" Cleo asks back. Oliver walks in a little further. "My name is Oliver. I just want to talk to you about everything down here." Cleo walks into the light. Her hair is a mess. It's a fire red, she's in her mid-fifties. Her clothes are ragged, have holes in them, and have dirt all over her body.
"Come sit down, Oliver." Cleo says. Oliver walks over to a wooden rocking chair. It's missing three of its bars from the back. He sits down. "Why are you down here?" Oliver asks. "I'm down here, because Stella doesn't want me to be seen, by anyone. She locks me away from my love. I can barely see him." Cleo says. "Well who's your love?" Oliver asks her in a kind voice.
"Leon. He's the janitor here. Do you know him?" Cleo asks. "Yea I know Leon. We have actually never talked to each other, he always sticks to himself." Oliver says. "I haven't gotten to see him. The last time I saw him was two days ago." Cleo said with a tear rolling down her face. "I'm so sorry to hear that." Oliver said responding to her. "Stella barely lets us see each other. She says I'm a mad woman now that's why she leaves me down here. She says I have done, bad things to people, but I don't ever recall doing something bad to people." Cleo says. "I'm so sorry. I didn't know about you until today, and I decided to come see what's up with everything." Oliver said.
"Could you do one thing, which would make me really happy?" Cleo asks Oliver. "What is it?" Oliver responds. "Could you go get Leon and have him come down here? I just want to see him." Cleo asks him. "I will, but only for a few minutes. Oliver said with a smile. "Thank you, Oliver." Cleo says.
Oliver gets up and walks out of the room. Oliver walks back up the steps. He opens the wooden door, and walks out, closing it behind him. He goes to walk to Leon's office. "What the hell are doing out this late?" Daisy says to him. "I just wanted to go for a walk around. "Well that's not for you to do. Go to Stella's office." Daisy says in a mean tone.
Oliver starts walking to Stella's office. Oliver reaches her office and walk in. Daisy walks in after him, locking the door behind her. "Sit" Daisy says. Oliver sits. "Why are we in the Head Mothers office? " Oliver asks.
"Let's just say, I'm Stella's replacement." Daisy says. "No you're not. You're a fucking Liar." Oliver says loudly. "Stella will hear us you know." Oliver says laughing. 'Oh, no she will not. I drugged her. She is asleep, for the night." Daisy responds with a laugh. "You can't do anything to me." Oliver says.
Daisy smacks him across the back of the head with the whip. She smacks him again. She continues to smack him repeatedly. She hits him in random places. His once white tee shirt is now filling with red, from the whip. He has a cut down his face, bleeding all over his chest and back.
Oliver is crying in pain. "P-Please stop. P-Please I'm bleeding." Oliver cries out. The basement key falls out of sweat pants. Daisy looks at it. She bends over and picks it up. "Hmmmm, what is this, young man?" Daisy asks. "It's It is a key." Oliver says. "Trying to go to forbidden rooms?" Daisy asks. "Well that's not allowed." Daisy says in a mean tone.
Daisy sets the key on the desk. She raises her hand and beats Oliver with the whip twenty more times. Daisy stops. She puts the whip back and unlocks the door. She opens the door. "Now wonder around freely." Daisy says with a smile. Daisy walks off.
"Where the hell is he. He should have been back with him by now." Cleo says. Cleo looks up at the door. "It's open. It's wide open. I'm set free. It's play time now." Cleo says smiling at the door. Cleo gets up. She walks over to the door stumbling. She reaches the steps and starts walking up them. She opens the wooden door. Cleo smiles and walks over to the Leon's room.
Oliver starts crawling down the hall way. He goes past many doors. The teachers room. The teachers bedroom, the cafeteria, and the rec room. Oliver then reaches this one door. Oliver sits himself up a little bit against the door. Oliver starts to knock on the door lightly. His hand his covered him blood. He keeps knocking. Finally the door flies over. "Can you help me Dr. Irvin?" Oliver asks.
"Yes of course I can." Dr. Irvin says. Dr. Irvin grabs Oliver and takes him down to the lab. Dr. Irvin places him on a bed. "Now Oliver, I'm going to inject you with some stuff, it might sting, slow your heart rate, might even kill you." Dr. Irvin says flicking a needle.
In the Next Chapter; "Come here little kids. I need to stab you." Cleo yells. "What are you doing?" Stella asks. "This is my Orphanage now, Stella." Daisy says. Stella stumbles into the basement. The big red door closes and locks.
