Aurora, Aurora

As Aurora's luck would have it, her alarm clock didn't go off that morning. So when Aurora woke up and saw she was already twenty minutes late for work, she became frantic.

"Shit shit shit!" Aurora yelled as she ran around her house. She brushed her teeth, brushed her hair and applied her makeup. Aurora pulled on a blue polo shirt and tucked it into her green skirt, securing a thin brown belt around her waist. She slipped on some red heels after and shoved her angel wing diamond necklace underneath her collared shirt. If she was going to be late, she might as well look decent she figured.

Aurora make herself a cup of coffee, poured it into the to-go cup she had taken from the coffee shop yesterday, grabbed her purse and her keys, and left her apartment in a flurry of movement. She drove her yellow convertible sports car to work and parked it quickly. She rushed into the building, trying to get to her lab quickly.

"Um, Miss Allen!" The secretary called after her.

"What's up?" Aurora said, backtracking.

"Well uh, Mrs Queen said she'd like to see you as soon as you were in" She replied.

"Alright" Aurora sighed and walked to her lab. That was just one more thing on Aurora's to-do list for today.

Aurora used her back to push open the door to her lab.

"Sorry I'm late everyone!" She yelled. The room lit up when their boss Aurora walked in. Despite Aurora's seemingly cold exterior, she was quite praised and well liked by those who knew her some. She always brought life wherever she went... Save her nighttime 'activities'.

"Hey Aurora!"

"Aurora, how was your weekend??"

"Hey let me show you something I found Aurora!"

Aurora greeted people and answered the questions as quickly as she could, but her mind was overloading. Usually Aurora got to work and hour or two before anyone else, it was the only time of day that she could just relax and be by herself, and today- she was really missing it.

Once everyone's curiosity and sudden burst of lively hood settled and Aurora was situated, she remembered her meeting with Moira.

"Crap" She muttered under her breath, starting to rush to gather her things for said meeting. Aurora grabbed her clipboard and pencil, her access key, her most recent and breakthrough research in her lab, and her coffee before announcing that she'd be back in a bit.

Aurora quickly left her lab and entered the elevator, pressing the number 26, the floor where Moira's office was located. The elevator dinged shortly and Aurora exited it, taking a left to the secretary's desk.

"I have an meeting with Moira" Aurora sighed. The secretary nodded.

"W-Well Miss, Mrs Queen is actually uh- a bit busy right now. She had a surprise... visitor" The secretary stated nervously. Aurora frowned at the girl's uneasiness.

"Then tell Moira I'm here. I'll wait" She said. The secretary nodded and Aurora stood in front of Moira's office door, sipping her coffee.

Suddenly, someone stormed out of Moira's office, running right into Aurora and spilling her coffee everywhere.

"Great" Aurora rolled her eyes and she bent down to pick up her now-empty cup. Could her luck get any better?

"Oh shit I'm sorry" A familiar voice said. It was the voice from last night. Aurora snapped her head up and her eyes connected briefly with the green ones of none other than Oliver Queen.

She quickly snapped her head down again, hoping Oliver didn't know who she was.

"It's fine" She mumbled, shielding her face while throwing away her cup.

"Oliver!" Moira scolded, "I'm sorry about that love, feel free to come in and we'll get you a new set of clothes" Moira sighed.

Aurora thanked the older woman as she stood up, her head held away from Oliver's view.

"Katherine! Come take care of this please!" Moira called out to the secretary, who was on it in seconds.

"Now, for our meeting" Moira smiled as she turned to Aurora.

+++++++++++++++

Aurora quickly concluded that Moira simply called her to a meeting to chat and remind her to see Oliver, which annoyed Aurora slightly, but at least it was better than answering eager questions from lab-ees she didn't have the energy for.

"Wonderful. Oh! Before you leave Aurora, we're having a dinner party tonight, and you and a plus one are invited. It won't be anything like Oliver's return party, trust me. Just a normal family dinner, like old times. We'd all really like to see you there" She smiled.

"That sounds lovely Moira. I'd love to" Aurora faked a smile before exiting the office.

Suddenly she stopped in her tracks.

Wait... What had she just agreed to?

+++++++++++++++

"I can't decide what to wear" Aurora groaned out loud

"Here, just try some stuff on and I'll tell you which I think is best" Roy said from the living room. Aurora popped her head around the corner, eyes narrowed.

"Do I trust you?" She asked skeptically

"Do you?" He smirked in response

"Well I mean, you are Thea's boyfriend. You must have some sense of style" Aurora winked and Roy blushed feverishly.

"Auroraaaaa" Roy's voice warned

"Fine fine fine. What about this?" Aurora asked as she stepped into the living room wearing a beautiful white dress. It fell to just past her knees and had a sweetheart neckline, the sleeves were 3/4 sleeves made of sheer, floral material that hung off her shoulders.

"Aurora you look... beautiful" Roy said, slightly shocked by his partner in crime.

"Don't look so surprised!" Aurora scoffed

"Hey! You never dress up" Roy defended himself, chuckling

"I do too!" Aurora retorted

"Yeah? When? And your work dresses don't count. I mean when was the last time you actually dressed up?" Roy asked. He sounded so sassy, he could have been standing with his hands on his hips.

"Probably Oliver's funeral" Aurora almost snorted after giving it some though.

"And now we're going to have dinner with him" Roy laughed, sticking his elbow out for Aurora to link arms with his.

"Funny how the world works huh?" Aurora smiled at him as they linked arms and left her apartment.
