Love Will Remember - Sam Pottorff

Chapter 1

         “Mommy! Daddy! Me and Sammie are gonna go play outside!” I shouted grabbing Sam’s hand and pulling him off the floor.

 “Allison dear, please be careful! Don’t fall off the playground like last time!” I sighed, and replied an okay to my father and drug Sam out to the back yard.

   I skipped over to the sandbox dropping Sam’s hand. He wandered off to the playground and hobbled up the ladder. I grabbed a sand bucket and filled it to the rim with sand. In the process, sand was spilled down my t-shirt and into my favorite pair of slippers. I shook the sand bucket and the sand poured out into a glob of sand, and not into the sandcastle I was hoping for, but that never actually happens, does it? There was a small twig with a bit of leaves sprouting off the edges slightly, so I poked it through the top. Voila.

  “Sammie! Come here!” I yelled, getting out of the box and riding myself of any dirt. He came gliding down the slide, and storming over to me.

  “Look Sam! I made you a birthday present!” I pointed to the disasterous clump of sand, “Happy seventh birthday Sammers!” I squealed excitedly to my bestfriend. Sam’s face didn’t even budge.

  “Hey, what’s wrong?” I questioned, calmly taking small steps twords him. He just burst out in tears.

  “Allie?” He sobbed into my now drenched shoulder.

  “Yea Sam?” I answered afraid of his response.

  “My mommy is making me move to a place far far away and we can’t see each other anymore, for a long long time. I’m so sad! I love you Allie!” he said quivering.

  “But Sam, I’ll miss you! You can’t go! I love you too!” I then started crying with him. Eventually the both of us ceased the crying, and fell asleep outside while cuddling.

     This would be one of the nights us two would have that we would both remember. Because by the time Sam would move, and the years would pass, all the memories would pass as well. For one of us they would. As for the other the memories will always be with them.
